Hi we currently use the mikrotik RB951 with captive portal on. What we are looking at doing is given Facebook users faster bandwidth than the web form users.
The setup we have at the moment is below.
any help greatly appreciated

hi MI means (master inactive), i can see that by logging into the main router that shows as smb= (slave master bound)

also the cap seems to reset itself back do default ssid of mikrotik****, its at various venues not at all.
any help anyone?

hello all was wondering if it is possible at all with mikrotik products running ros6 to use mts as a wireless bridge . For example just like ubiquity products do where the first acces point is hardwired into the main router then other ones just connect wireless without the Ethernet cables plugged in...

i experimented and it seems like you cannot change the frequencies as using same radio just broadcasting different SSID

has anybody in here got or aware of any installations where they track customer frequency by MAC address or such , i believe it is do-able through monitor mode or wireless sniffer then direct the traffic to a server?

hi all the router we are using is the rb951ui-2hnd what we are looking at doing is to setup a router either the one in venue or a separate one to monitor mac addresses of devices in venue then upload them to a URL of our choice. googled but they all seem to point to wireless sniffer is this correct?...

I was told to use port 5 to attach to cAP from mikrotik rb951 , but when i do this the cAP is not discoverable in capsman but when i use a POE Injector from port 4 it picks up no problem. hi guys,
bear in mind im new to mikrotik
i was using a RB951Ui - 2 Hnd
now using RB962UiGS-5HAC

I HAVE GOT THE DUAL SSID working on the 2nd router as couldn't get it going on 1st one.
any one know of any cAPs that will work with capsman and give out dual or multiple SSID?
