Re: Mikrotik Outdoor Enclusure and RIC522 - Mount GPS module

Thanks a lot for the link to this enclosure. I am certainly looking for something like this, however, it would be better if it was slightly larger, had the flat space on top for the GPS antenna and was white. I like the fact that this enclosure has cooling fins. I dont understand why there are not m...

Mikrotik Outdoor Enclusure and RIC522 - Mount GPS module

We have been looking around for a GPS module that works with the USB interface on an RB433UAH. We found one that works well at a reasonable price: http://www.thegpsstore.com/USGlobalSat-MR350-USB-Receiver-P1483.aspx The issue I now have is finding an enclosure that has approximately 3 inches of spac...

Re: Using NetInstall problems

I left an important piece of info out of my post. The version I was having trouble with was v3.0rc12 and I downloaded it from Mikrotik's website.

Also spoke with a technician at wisp-router.com who experienced this same issue.

Re: Using NetInstall problems

I downloaded the most recent version of NetInstall on Dec. 5th 2007 and had some problems. It would go through the PXE boot and issue an IP address to the client server, but then after it said: Loading initrd.rgz... Ready... Uncompressing Linux kernel... Ok, booting kernel... Waiting for drivers... ...

Router reboots within short intervals

I have another RB532 unit which was working fine for about a week and then recently it started having a problem where it reboots every 1-3 minutes. I upgraded the BIOS to version 2.6 and also upgraded the OS to 2.9.39. Even used two different power supplies. Log: dec/31/1999 16:00:18 system,error,cr...

Yes, I can get to a console port, but nothing is outputted before the system shuts off. In the logs after reboot I see: system, error, critical router rebooted without proper shutdown, probably power outage On one of the other RB532 units I had, it showed these same symptoms in both ver 2.9.28 2.9.30....

RB532 - Reboots constantly

I have two RB532 units that reboot constantly. I have used two different wall wart power supplies but the same problem. I hope there is not a batch of faulty units.

I was told "No" by Mikrotik support. Instead, we used a GPS module (uPatch102r from PTSI.com) using RS232 to a 9PIN connector into the serial port of the RB532.

Red & Blue LED's on and no console output

We had a similar situation where we were integrating a GPS unit and were plugging in the GPS output to the console port of the RB532. Both the Red and Blue LED's would stay lit and we were unable to log into the Router while this console cable was plugged in. It turned out that the GPS module was ou...
