Re: why is MK so developer unfriendly?

As far as the GPL(v3) goes, I've done some work on that project as an advocate. I'm very familiar with the legalities of it. Before I get started here if anyone would like to request sources or citations, please do not hesitate to ask but I'll try and be as upfront and clear as possible. So long as ...

Re: GRE + NAT = WUT?

I was able to get the nat to work by disabling RP Filtering (having it set to lose or strict causes some issues) I'm still unable to use port forwarding. Does anyone have any ideas? I can port forward from ISP Public IP to 192.168.0.100 but I cannot port forward from 10.x to 192.168.0.100. I see the...

Port forwarding a Natted Gre Tunnel?

How do I terminate a Gre tunnel (that's on a 10.x network) to my Nat The backstory: I'm using a Mikrotik Router Cloud Switch to connect to a cable modem (not router) in which Mikrotik picks up the public IP. The current topology thus far is: ether-WAN: 71.X.X.X (picked up by DHCP) ether-LAN: 192.168...

Scripting Firewall Comments

So far, I have a firewall that detects attacks and adds ip addresses to a list and then I block packets by that list. The question here is, how would I go about scripting the actual log entries that triggered this listing in placing those entries into the comments field for that particular listing. ...

Port Forwarding Woes :(

For some reason, I can't get port forwarding to work to save my life :( No one can connect externally, and until I get that working I don't want to add the hairpin rules just yet. [admin@XXXXX] /ip firewall nat> print Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic 0 chain=srcnat action=masquerade out...

DHCP Server Inop

I've read around the forums, posts back in 2016 that the DHCP server assigns prefixes only. So what is the solution? I have a WAN <- Clould Router Switch (level 5 license) -> LAN My ISP assigns a prefix to the router via DHCP Client. How do I have LAN clients pick up a IPv6 address? Can this be done...

Re: A few issues :S

Here is the supout file. I think there is a problem with this device or something was likely misconfigured at the factory. When you reset this device, even port 1 acts as a switch port, ie with 0 routing you are able to switch packets from any other port to that port. I'm used to these ports being i...

Re: A few issues :S

Ok, speed problem solved.

I had to restart the system before it took effect. I'm now getting solid 300+Mbps internet speeds.

Re: A few issues :S

Sorry I edited to keep the thread clean. There was no effect. Traffic over eth1 cannot seem to exceed 40mbps even though, I've verified it is running and negotiated at 1gbps. Is this device not built to handle a heavy workload though? Here is something interesting though. My network is setup like th...

Re: A few issues :S

To make sure I'm understanding this correctly; this cat6 L3 switch/router can only barely handle cat5 speeds? I added the following rule: /ip firewall filter add chain=forward action=fasttrack-connection connection-state=established,related This rule was already added as per the NAT: /ip firewall fi...

Re: A few issues :S

What device are you talking about and what is the configuration? CRS125-24G-1S-RM Not sure, what configuration do you need? I do not have the configuration set right this moment for the DHCP I was using but basically: WAN was assigned as Eth1-master to obtain an IP from the bridged cable modem with...

A few issues :S

Firstly, I picked up a CCNA in the US Army and I became intimately familiar with routing working on custom networks (wans/lans) there. This box has me plucking more grey hairs than I'd like and I've become very aggravated with the box. First of all, I'm using Time Warner Cable (Spectrum) and it is a...
