Vonage help

Forum. I use Voange in my home/office network and I would like to give it priority over everything else, so call quality does not suffer while other users use the network.

Can anyone assist me with a rule ?

Best regards.

PoE switches

Does anyone know what the power draw is on the 532 boards via the PoE port? We know the PoE injectors are 48 volt, but does this mean that we must use 48volt PoEs, if not, we may be able to get a switch that will put out enough power to light up these boards and clean things up at our main tower and...

PoE Switches

Forum. I'm wondering if anyone is using PoE switches for powering RB 532s? I noticed the IEEE language states no more than 12.5 watts of draw and if my calculations are correct, we need 15.8 watts to power the RB 532 ?

Thanx in advance for any advice.

DHCP Failing

Forum. We have been having major problems with DHCP failing on one of our boxes. We only use DHCP on this one box and we have continually upgraded as new versions of Router OS have come out, but to no avail. The problem we are having is that the log file states that the DHCP pool is empty and the se...

SR2 Pain: Please Help !

Forum. We, unfortuneately, purchased a truck load of SR2s from WISP Router. After numerous truck rolls, cancelled subscribers, and hundreds of lost hours of labor, we have come to the conclusion that these cards should have never been released to the WISP market ! We have attempted to adjust the pow...

Problems with HotSpot feature

Forum. We are running the HotSpot feature with MAC authentication. Although we have no HTML page set-up to prompt users to log-on, some users keep getting prompted to log-on to the hotspot?

Anyone ran into this problem before? We are running v2.9.8

Best.

Router OS changing CALL ID

Forum. We have a subscribers who is having a problem with the current version of Router OS and compatibility with ISA. In a nutshell, the Mikrotik is changing the CALL-ID in the PPTP packets. This is not RFC compliant and ISA2004 is the first filter I’ve seen actually enforce it, but it should. Here...

Firewall rules to allow browsing across a workgroup

Does anyone have any recommendations regarding necessary firewall rules for browsing across a Windows workgroup inside the LAN ? I mainly want to share files and printers, without using a Domain Controller.

Wi-Fi on an A.M. tower

Forum: Does anyone have any experience placing wi-fi equipment on a powered A.M. Tower? Any best practices that anyone can provide? Specifically, I'm wondering if there are any specific cabling issues, as we plan to use LMR 1200 for about 400ft from our radios which will be placed at the bottom and ...

Forum. Does anyone have any advise or personal experience with long rang links? We will soon be building three or four long range links that are between 12 and 40 miles. I am wondering if anyone can share current or past configurations of your links and how they are performing? We will be using 200 ...

Winbox crashing

Erik. I've notcied this and other issues with WinBox. However, I must qualify this statement by stating that when I moved WinBox to another laptop, the problem did not occur. I'm sure if I (you) were to go thru msconfig and shut down items one by one, we would find the culprit ? You're not using a T...
