Honestly it sounds like a perfect application of 802.11-n draft stuff. 802.11n is designed, intended, and works best in a highly reflective environment - which is exactly what you've described. by the way i finally finished my antenna that can be on 2.7 ghz so I really need the card .
2.7 Ghz card is not available as i know. But it is planned by Ubiquiti to launch such a card which will support 2.7~2.9Ghz.

Does ROS support 2.5 Mhz Channel Spacing ? I am curious to know because i have a data sheet with me which mentions that the configuration software is WinBox and advertises a channel spacing of 2.5 Mhz in 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz.

You need a high sensitivity, less noisy card. Compex cards are often called as bad junks and not advised for such setups.

For mini-PCI cards best bet are :

SR2
SR5
DCMA-82

DCMA-82 topping out in the list with a peak output of 1W in b/g and 400mW in "a" mode.

I too use heat gun with RTV Bars. Those are good ... atleast it keeps the connectors look like new. but i am unsure how it is effective in keeping the interference out.

Noise level does not increase much with the higher gain omni on top of a building.
So, you do accept that noise level increases with the increase of gain.
