Static IPv6 subnet over PPPoE with radius

Hi, We have been having trying to assign customers IPv6 prefixes through a rad reply from an external radius server. We currently assign IPv4 addresses by passing the router "Framed-IP-Address". We have tried both "Framed-IPv6-Address" and "Framed-IPv6-Prefix" and none ...

Re: Mikrotik sending out rogue DHCP requests [SOLVED]

Hi. I think we are going to have to try the bridge filter next. We downgraded to v6.42.11 but the problem still exists. I have looked through the export and there is nothing configured in /ip dhcp-client/server/relay. Same for Ipv6 even though that shouldn’t matter. (Different port). I don’t see any...

Re: Mikrotik sending out rogue DHCP requests [SOLVED]

Hi, I can confirm that a packet sniff on another connected router shows that the source MAC address is the problematic router. The router has a couple hundred Mbps at any one time so it’s not possible to unplug it to test. It is located in a remote datacenter that we would rather not have to go to. ...

Mikrotik sending out rogue DHCP requests [SOLVED]

Hi, We have been getting complaints from our transit providers and internet exchange that there has been a lot of requests from a DHCP client on our router coming from our router. We are able to see lots of traffic on another connected router on port 67 and 68 coming from the affected router. We hav...

Re: Slow speeds on fibre with pppoe [SOLVED]

Hi, Thanks. We were able to lower the mtu to 1436 and that seems to have solved the problems. We are now maxing out our transit providers.

Re: Slow speeds on fibre with pppoe [SOLVED]

Thanks for your reply. I am able to ping both ways with a max packet size of 1480 without it complaining of fragmentation. (1480 all pings fine. 1481 pings fail due to fragmentation).

Slow speeds on fibre with pppoe [SOLVED]

Hi, A few of us are trying to figure out why we aren’t getting full speed through a fibre connection. The fibre link has been tested to be capable of 1gbps. We have a pppoe Server running on a vlan on a ccr1016-12S-1S+ which then connects through the fibre on a vlan to a rb1100ahx2. This runs a pppo...

Re: Router reboot required when routing table is changed. [SOLVED]

It depends on the structure of the network and the details of your configuration. When you have a default route that goes to internet via NAT and you have tried to reach the remote system before you added the route, yes it could happen. This is because the router has setup a NAT translation entry f...

Router reboot required when routing table is changed. [SOLVED]

Hi all, I have a rb493G with a few firewall rules and a pptp vpn setup. Every time I add a new route or setup a DHCP server and a route gets added automatically, the router can ping the clients along that route but clients on their subnets can not. After spending a while and talking to a friend who ...
