Hello Brasil,

I always recommend leaving the Tx power setting to default. If you decide to change it, just remember that the Xr5 has a 10dB power offset. So if you set the MTik to 18dB you will actually be outputting 28dB of power.

And I always recommend grounding the card.

Thanks,

Mike

Why is it every card produced by UBT has problems with noise, esd, and excuses for it, I've been through many SR2's all with the system grounded and they go deaf. we hear the excuse of the dervisity switch. well then fix it, cm9's perform better and do not have this problem. SR9's work fine as long...

Hey ejannson, From my experience adding additional ground to the shielding has never helped (in lab experiments). The shield is already grounded through the ground plane of the PCB. It is very likely that a charged person could have zapped the card, or that static charge in the air (lightning storm ...

Hello Hypernet,

Due to the very sharp filtering on standard Sr2 it would not work well outside of 2.4Ghz. If you are looking for specialty cards please email me @ support@ubnt.com.

Hello,

It sounds as though the diversity switch took an ESD hit, and cause the card to be partially deaf. Please swap it with another card and see if it solves the problem.

Let me know!

Hey Guys, Xr3 works fine under 2.9.38 and 2.9.41. Xr3 uses a 2Ghz frequency conversion, and is detected as a 5Ghz cards. So you select the corresponding 5ghz channel. I.E>5.5ghz = 3.5Ghz I have tested several links in the lab and in the field and the performance of the card is really good. Throughpu...

Hey Henrik,

It does sound like you have a deaf card. Most likely cause would be a static shock.

JJCinAZ is on the right track. XR2 has built in surge protection circuitry, that dissipates static shocks through the grounding cable to help mitigate cards going deaf.

To answer your question, the reason for going with the 600mw version, is distance/link quality at low signal levels. Also the units resistance to interference is better, along with noise suppression and the ESD system. Mike Thank you Mike - this certainly looks like a well engineered product. I loo...

Hi mike,
I would know if XR5 is fully compatible with mikrotik software..
Ciao Carlo
Hey Carlo,

Most of my testing in the lab is done on MikroTik's and so far I havent seen a problem with them.

Also i have run tests on Avila boards and Gateworks boards running IkarusOS.

I saw info on those a short while back, very interesting. IMHO they are probably most suited to "base station" and P2P products, but haven't seen pricing yet, to see they would be fit in CPE models. Certainly the high TX power would help wide angle BS sectors particularly at 5GHz. "N...

These cards work great on Mtik as long as the voltage is there. They do draw more current then Sr2 or Sr5.

There is also the issue of windchill, if the ambient temp is 40f and teh windchil is say 30f or lower you would possibly experience problems, also with condensation that will also lower the temp combined with wind chill.
