Re: 📣 WinBox 4 is here 📣

Firstly, it looks great I love it, and i'm almost using it full time now. Picked up one small bug so far: IP > Firewall > Connections, entries missing where there are lots of connections. Old Winbox have a "There are too many records..." "Or click here..." message, but not on the...

Re: WInbox feature request: drag and drop column order and right click column menu

+1 This would still make a super useful feature. Especially if the column you really need is on the far side of the window and you have to scroll there to see what you want. But it has finally been implemented! You only need to upgrade your winbox to get this function. Ok, awesome. I see the change...

Hi, I came across this script, but it wasn't working for me in ROS 6.47, so I had to tweak it a bit before it worked. :local txc :local txcA :local txcB :local txcC :local rxc :local rxcA :local rxcB :local rxcC :local rxta :local rxtaA :local rxtaB :local rxtaC :local txta :local txtaA :local txtaB...

Re: v6.47 [stable] is released!

Anyone else with a large number (over 130) of L2TP clients (only L2TP i.e. not L2TP/IPSec) notice that with 6.47, only a fraction (about 30 to 40) are able to connect to the router? I had to revert to 6.46.x to get my tunnels connected again. I have the same problem 6.46.6 all 96 clients connect, a...

Re: Tool: Using Splunk to analyse MikroTik logs 3.0 (Graphing everything)

Hello, I was wondering if you can help with a previous post regarding CAPsMAN setup for your application. Two of the charts uses the name of the interface for the data, but the problem comes in where if there are spaces in the interface it stops displaying the name before the space. eg. if my interf...

Hi, No worries, I got it running on Ubuntu 20.04 So I once again tried to see the devices reporting but no data. I then realized it only runs every morning at 01:00 so I tried to run it manually. Even though I have two devices sending logs to Splunk successfully (I can see my firewall traffic, but c...

Re: Tool: Using Splunk to analyse MikroTik logs 2.9 (Graphing everything)

Hi,

OK I will do that. Sucks that the only answer is to try another OS, but oh well.

Another thing, is it possible to monitor several MikroTik's via this system, or is it only designed for a single device?

Thanks

Re: Feature Requests: Port Lists, and Multiple address lists in a filter rule

I know this is an old thread, but would just like to say this helped a lot Thanks If you want IP in list_X, list_Y, or list_Z -> action, then you can make a chain for the three lists. Put all other criteria on the jump check, e.g. port number, nth, time of day, etc) 1) all other criteria are true ->...

Hi,

Do you need all internet traffic to run on all WAN interfaces? Like load balancing, or a type of aggregated bandwidth?

Hi, I've setup a router similar to your config, but with mostly default settings. Try the following: /interface bridge add fast-forward=no name=bridge /interface vlan add interface=ether1 name=Internet vlan-id=832 /interface wireless security-profiles set [ find default=yes ] supplicant-identity=Mik...

Re: hAP ac^2: Internet stops working when I enable 5ghz wifi

Hi, I see you have deviated quite a bit from the default settings for your interfaces. Do you have a reason why proxy-arp is enabled for your bridge and vlan? also, why arp is disabled on ether1 interface? I would start with changing all interfaces to standard enabled arp mode. I would also untick U...

Re: FW upgrade fails after being hacked

Hi,

I will double check your admin username permissions, as some hackers move this user to the read-only group, and create their own login.
If this is the case then you'll have to perhaps restore an even earlier backup before this was changed, failing this, then netinstall is the answer.

Re: Dual Acces PPPOE Multi WAN Question

Hi,

I'm assuming all three Dual Access devices are connected to three different ports on your MikroTik?
If this is the case you will need to mangle these connections to make sure traffic is kept separate, otherwise routing is going to get screwed up.

Re: client connect to wifi in other room - why [SOLVED]

Hello,

CAPsMAN should handle this for you.
Otherwise you can always set a rule in the connection list to deny a certain signal strength from connecting to the AP.

You can find this under Wireless > Connect List (Winbox) or
/interface wireless connect-list

Re: Can I connect "internet" to other than Port 1 on the hEX PoE?

Hi,

This is just the default config that ships with RouterOS.
You will either need to modify this, or reset config with no defaults and setup your own network.

Any port can be used for anything on RouterOS, except obviously if it doesn't do POE out it won't.

Re: hAP ac^2: Internet stops working when I enable 5ghz wifi

Hi,

I don't see anything out of the ordinary. You could perhaps set the channel width on both devices to 20mhz only.

Just to clarify, when you enable the 5Ghz WLAN you don't have internet anywhere? Or just on the 5Ghz WLAN? Or no Internet on either WLAN 1 or 2, only LAN has internet?

Hi,

My guess would be you are causing some sort of network loop.

Please post output of your "/interface bridge port" setup, and your "/interface wireless" setup.

I believe the issue is your
/system clock get date
If you look at the output through the "put" command, it will print something like "nov/19/2018"
Herein lies the issue as you can't have "/" in your name.

To avoid a lot of headache and troubleshooting, it will be much better to link up the two hAP's via ethernet and setup CAPsMAN on the main router.

Hi,

Have you also tried upgrading routerboard firmware under System > Routerboard > Upgrade?
You might also want to check the wireless encryption method ie. aes or tkip. It is better to use aes ccm only as tkip is slower.

Re: RB2011UAS-2HnD - HotSPOT understates the speed of the internet

Hi, You'll find that the RB2011 single core CPU will battle with speeds above 200Mbps. Likely the addtional NAT and Firewall rules the Hotspot creates adds extra load on the CPU? If you can, try the same rules on an RB3011 (2x core), or the hAP AC2 (4x core) and see if your speed improves. You can h...
