Bridge ethernet freezes

I am trying to do a connection using 2 separate bridges. The first link is about 1500' to the top of a grain elevator. I used some RBSXTG 5Ghz radios. Works fine. The other link is about 3 miles and was using older rb532 boards. I decided to use Dynadish 5 for that link. I get that link up and it wo...

Windows 10 updates killing my network

I have been using Mikrotik routers for about a year with simple queues to regulate traffic. All was fine and great until recently when we made the decision as a company to go to Windows 10 to take advantage of the "Free" upgrade. We have turned off the sharing of updates on the internet on...

Re: Symbol scan gun issues

That fixed the problem. We installed Fusion v2.57.0.0.022B last night and our roaming issues disappeared.
All is working great with our Mikrotik's.

Thanks for the suggestion on updating the handhelds.

Symbol scan gun issues

I work part time with a wireless internet provider and we use Mikrotik for all of our APs and backhauls. So in my full time job, I decided to use Mikrotiks in our warehouse environment. We are currently in the process of upgrading to a warehouse management system involving Symbol MC9090-g scan guns....

Re: Interference issues?

We are using hyperlink 32 DB 5.8 3' antennas.
Located in USA.
When the weather clears we are going to climb
and change from vertical to horizontal to see if that
helps. Right now we are limping along with the 2.4

Interference issues?

We are shooting a PTP link 13 miles and up until 2 weeks ago it was running great. Originally we were 5.8 but couldn't keep the link up. Using the SR5s we were -75 TX/RX. This is a rural area. We changed to a 2.4 thinking 5.8 was just hosed even though frequency usage wasn't high. After going to 2.4...

Re: queue dont work

Same here... Using simple queues, i have people limited to 128K upload, however some doing this file sharing are able to triple that. only way i am able to slow them down is to drop their queue to 28K. They are still able to go 3 - 4 times that speed, but at least they aren't killing me now. Any fix...

script to automatically telnet after logging in

I have been running a wingate box for many years. the main reason i run it is because of its telnet proxy. it allows somebody from the internet to telnet to it and then with a username/pass forward the telnet to a unix server behind the firewall. is there a script available that allow somebody telne...

blocking udp port 0

I have a customer that is able to exceed their queue limitation by sending and receiving data on udp port 0. I have tried to mangle this and block it in firewall without success?

Anybody give me pointers on how to queue this traffic?

Thanks,

Wayne

load balancing and masquerading almost working

I used the example at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Load_Balancing_over_Multiple_Gateways and it works almost fine. I have public addresses of 10.1.1.1-.3 and 10.2.2.2 in ethernet1 that go to different providers. 10.1.1.1 is for business, 10.2.2.2 is for residential. On the local side i have 2 range...

SR2 and SR9 don't work together well.

Had been posting about having a RB153 with a SR2 and SR9 in it. Over the weekend one of my climbers braved the cold for me and changed out the radio. We ran LMR down so I could work on it from the ground. 75' in the air. I hooked up a 532 with an SR2 only and i was seeing average customer levels aro...

Script for starting alignment tool on startup

I am sure this is quite easy, but i am banging my head trying to get this working. I want to give my installers a rb112 that will go into alignment mode when it is powered up. I can get it working after logging in and putting this command in prompt... /interface wireless align monitor wlan1 if i cre...

No, it's on the 2.4. We aren't using 900 in the area yet. Future use. When the weather warms up a bit I am going to get a climber up to pull the SR9 out and see if that fixes the problem. I have done the frequency scan that is in mikrotik. 2.4 is showing clear. Just curious if the sr9 and sr2 were p...

Too much for a routerboard 153?

Trying to run an SR2 and SR9 in a routerboard 153. Getting random reboots around 3 - 5 times a week. Noticing some clients signal levels are changing upwards of 20db at time. one minute they are -60 and next around -80db. There are days where the signal will not change at all, usually for the worse....

Clients' signal dropping

We installed a new area 4 weeks ago. installed a routerboard 153 with SR2 and SR9 in it with 2.3.39OS. Most customers are close to the 8 DB omni with is 75' in the air. we are doing 2.4 only right now, but the 900 SR9 is active. I have customers with anywhere from a -53db to -77db and all was good.....
