Re: External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

So I'am reviving this thread to give an update on what we have done. From the Bridge Perspective, its working as design. We insert a Mikrotik between the cable modem or ISP router and the customers router or Firewall, and then take a port outside of that bridge for DHCP, which then gives it an Inter...

Re: Src-nat internal subnets to different public IPs not working - v6.42.2

Whats weird about the hole thing was we relocated office, they gave us a new block but the paper had our old block information and new. On the old block they specifically listed the Gateway, and First Usable, Last Usable and mask which was 14 IPs. On the sheet of paper, they basically just gave the ...

Re: Src-nat internal subnets to different public IPs not working - v6.42.2

Yeah really strange, assigned a /28, but hitting IPs that are not ours (not showing up in our block lists when running port scans). Contacting the cable company incase they sent the wrong mask, or range for us. Weird that we are working, but also weird we might be sharing a space :/

Re: Src-nat internal subnets to different public IPs not working - v6.42.2

Okay so Individually adding that IP works,The one IP I used for testing, .6 is working and with >1ms latency. Question #1 - Some of the IPs from the /28 are responding to ping but with a 14ms latency, some of them don't. I only have the .2/28 and the .6 w/ Network ID setup. #2 - What would have been...

Re: Src-nat internal subnets to different public IPs not working - v6.42.2

I have not - so I would go IP -> Addresses, add .5/32 or the matching Subnet .5/28? Any reason why the /28 isn't covering the entire spread? They should be routed, its a Cable Modem Handoff and the Modem only has 1 Port. Otherwise I wouldnt think the connection would come up if the netmask and scope...

Src-nat internal subnets to different public IPs not working - v6.42.2

Scratching my head - We have a /28 from the provider and applied to ether1. I am trying to separate Voice and Data to take different public IPs for all traffic from that subnet. Whenever I change the to-address to a different IP other than the IP assigned to Ether1 (.2) (say enable NAT rule 1), no t...

Re: External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

So I ran through a couple of tests - I was able to see the traffic hit both of the counters NAT and Firewall ACL, however would not connect for management via Winbox. The IP I assigned to the Bridge was 192.168.199.1/32. Any ideas/Seemed like we got closer since I can now NAT and see traffic hitting...

Re: External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

So Im slightly confused, your first response was a SRC-NAT, but I need a DST-NAT? How would the rule look? Type: DST-NAT SOURCE IP: WANIPOFCUSTOMER DEST IP: 192.168.199.1 (Bridge IP) PROTOCOL: tcp(6) DST PORT: 8291 ? Also need to create a Firewall Rule in the ACL? Input - Port 8291, From WANIP to 19...

Re: External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

I will give this a test later today.. Assign a manual random IP out of scope of the Customers LAN to the Bridge Interface, I should be able to SRC-NAT the Winbox Port from External WAN IP to the Bridge IP for Winbox Access? That sound correct?

Thank you!

Re: External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

How do you mean? In most configurations we use bridge to not interfere with say an ISP Modem uplinking to the the WAN on our device and then bridging the lan to customers WAN router or netgear, asus, dlink so the wan address goes to the customers device. So if we put an ip on the bridge interface, w...

External Winbox MGT Access, Transparent Bridge Mode

Hello Everyone, We deploy quite a few RB2011s in the field, mostly setup in Bridging Mode.. We utilize Eth10 as a DHCP Port that plugs back into the Customers Router and our units will run a script to communicate back to our server for updates, etc. Using this Pull Method, we can force updates to th...
