You guys at Mikrotik are on my Christmas list. I am reserved and looking forward to not being mugged walking from hotel to hotel. It’s always nice to be able to crawl upstairs, rather than down the street after the evening mixers.
The hotel is out of rooms at the block rate. Please negotiate an additional block. The room goes from $149 to $247/night. That is a bit steep and not many are going to pay this much. I also would implore you to add Friday to the block so attendees can attend the entire MUM event and check out Friday...
Just received our first pair of these. Nice looking units and coverage seems adequate. We successfully connected two of the units pressing the Sync button, but none of the settings seem to have passed between the units. We still had to enable CAP on the wireless linked unit and turn off IP addresses...
Has anyone successfully connected to ATT using LTE. I have the most recent ROS and have set the APN to broadband. I can get it to connect on 3g, but not LTE. Do we need to mess with Bands?
Tried that to begin with. No improvement. We have ordered a licensed link so this will be a thing of the past. However, on other links, it would be nice to squeeze 400+ meg on a PTP 80 MHz. Other brands we deploy will get exactly that on 80 MHz. I am of the impression no one is getting over 200 meg ...
Is anyone getting more than 200 meg over an 80 MHz Point to Point link? We are running a number of NV2 backhauls and are starting to outgrow them. I hate changing out the links for other brands and these have all been rock solid. We are using Netmetals and RB921's/RB922's. All links are in bridge/wd...
We have found lowering the client count to 20 or less fixes the NV2 speed issue. Setting NV2 TDMA Period Size to auto and making the Cell radius as small as possible also seems to help. We are trying Cell Radius of 3-5 larger than farthest SM. We have overlaid ePMP for scalability so we are learning...
Anybody tried the new wireless packages? I worked with support earlier this year and it helped setting NV2 TDMA period to Auto. Downside is sometimes during radius authentication you see connecting over and over in the log and no or only a few clients connect. As for other manufacturers, ePMP works ...
Band? N or ac? We never use AC, it is fine for backhauls but worthless in a highly congested area like ours. Dual pol? Everything is dual polarity and most are 90 degree sectors. Channel? 20? 40? 80? 20 MHz channel spacing in most all cases. That should allow for 100 megs of traffic and that is all ...
we have thousands of MT radios and until we started trying to offer 16-25 meg packages all was fine. Some AP's will do 40-70 meg and others with the exact same settings will not. Not sure what that is all about. What we need is GPS sync for freq reuse and timing. I keep hoping MT will add GPS to the...
Did anyone figure out a fix for this? Had to run out and replace a CCR1009 tonight. Put a RB2011 in its place, but let face it, they were never meant to push 400+ meg. The box at the tower is just too small for a rack mount size so we are using the CCR1009-8g-1s-1s+PC. It began dropping all ports an...
+1 for sync. In highly congested areas we are using ABAB with sync and it works great. Now instead of deploying 4 sectors and using 4 separate frequencies, we use 2. I have thousands of Mikrotiks and do not want to change brands, but the other brand is working and is affordable. Everyone needs to hi...
Reset Counters button seems to have no affect on any RB750UP's on the network. We are seeing a tremendous amount of Link Downs on these routers too after upgrading to 6.3x.x.
You may be able to make a custom channel list and play around a bit with frequency. My gripe is this is not compatible with the Xagl and XR9's already deployed. We have been asking for a 900 product for years, and now it seems like it may be a swing and a miss. Maybe on new deployments we can use th...
There seems to be some new way around the Greg Sowell regexp. We too are getting people violating the DCMA rules and notices are flying. Currently we are setting up a logging server so se can match times and port numbers to our customers. We are going to warn the customer and then discontinue servic...
Did you ever figure out the cause? I have a wireless link which does this. Problem disappeared for a year or better then with V6.x it seems to be back. I am running a RB433AUH with two wireless cards. This gives me over 100 meg accross the wireless interfaces. I can always reach the tower from the N...
Cannot get Voltage snmp to report in Dude 3.6 when we upgrade to rc11, worked fine on 4.17. Turned on logging and we see the request, just not answer. Try to perform an snmpwalk from Dude on the routerboard, nothing. Works on other towers. This is an RB433AH running v5.0rc11. Firmware is updated. sn...
We are using an RB450 in hospot mode to authenticate none Mikrotik equipment. We are experiencing the same issue with users not getting reauthenticated after being disabled by radius. We have put in a script to remove the unauthenticated users from the hosts list. It runs every 15 minutes which work...
You are not doing bonding are you? The bonding for all those who do not reallize gives you failover if one of the four radios dies, killing one link. All traffic will switch over to the remaining wireless link.
So we have tried the NV2 in a high interference area and it really seems to work. Took a customer who had good signal of -65 but P Throughput of less than 100 and transferred at a 2-3 meg down and 1 meg up using NV2. Looking forward to using this in the field on a permanent basis. Any ETA on the rad...
There is no P Throughput on the Signal tab when monitoring a connection using Nv2. We are using a RB433UAH with a single XR3 for testing. Is this by design or a bug?
Normis I love you guys. The product is rock solid and you are quick to respond to bugs. Here is America we Mikrotik users are getting hammered by Motorola Canopy gear. We need something to contend with their product. Contention-based protocol is the future and I do not want to give up our customer b...
I have a customer with a 450 as their "gateway" ether1 has a public IP and ether2-5 are bridged and have a 192.168.0.254 IP. DHCP is given by a Windows 2000 server. I am just using the src-nat chain and masquerading and have a few other dst-nat to forward some stuff to other devices on the...
This was only temporary but warrants a laugh. We did this until our outdoor box with the batteries arrived. How tall is the tower and how much was the tower cost? Just curious. Thanks Jordan Only 70 feet with 2 sets of guy wires. It now sports two 55 watt solar panels and 4 batteries in a Rigid out...
I have been able to put in a session limit in my billing system and it will authenticate again. However, then I disconnect them for about one ping. Looks like this would work, but I do not wish to kill their session unless the customer is disabled and this disconnects them enabled or disabled.
Is anyone having any luck with wireless radius authentication? Customer can authenticate, and then if we disable them in billing, the AP never never checks radius again to disable and bump them from the tower. I understand the Interim Update is the time before it checks again, but it never checks. W...
We are running solar tower and will have another next week. The first tower is using an OSBridge 5GXi and a RB333 with 3 R52h's. The R52h's required the least power at the time. It is a 12 volt tower with 120 watts of solar energy. I went cheap and easy and just bought Walmart marine batteries. We d...
We are skipping 3.11 due to problems experienced. The firmware seems stable, however our baseloads will not upload to 3.11 so we have stopped with 3.10. When you say client IP address, I assume you are speaking of the computer with which you are upgrading the routerboard from. If this is the case, t...
I think I figured it out. You must set a static IP in the subnet of the Netinstall program. In my case, I set the computer to 192.168.1.2 since the Net booting was using 192.168.1.55. Without loading the IP, I hit all the problems you guys are reporting.
Forgot to update the forum with my findings. You can in fact connect a Karlnet SEC client to a Mikrotik AP. We played with every firmware before finding only one firmware version of the Karlnet software is compatible. You must have 4.46 on the Karlnet client to connect to anything other than a Karln...
I can tell you this about 900 MHz Waverider. Weather like rain has little affect under LOS. NLOS situations you should not see 20 db drop, but it would depend on the shrubage. And now for the cryptonite of 900 MHz...FOG. Fog will kill the signal. The log wave of 900 MHz just cannot penetrate the den...
We cannot seem to get our SEC Clients to connect. When doing an Analyze, Wireless Link Test, we do not see the AP. Perhaps it is a firmware version issue with the Karlnet SEC clients. What version of the firmware are you guys using? We are currently using 5.10, but I can always downgrade. :-) Well t...
Karlnet AP's in 802.11 compatible mode (SEC) will allow any client 802.11 client to connect. However, the Karlnet SEC clients will not connect to just any 802.11 AP. Darn Karlnet. It was a purchased network that really functions well. We are actively moving away from the Karlnet AP's. One of the thi...
No, that is just it. We have tried with a simple Netgear and no encryption, nothing. Now, we are using the latest firmware of 5.10. It seems the SEC clients will connect to an SEC Karlnet AP as will any other 802.11 compliant device. We use the heck out of Tenx and Highgain clients with no trouble o...
I cannot get it to talk. The MT AP sees them online, however; the clients cannot even see the SSID. I really need this to work so we do not have to change out all our clients with new equipment.
