Re: default router question, etc

hi All,

thanks for all the replies, i wanted to dig deeper into this before replying. turns out adding the "/ip firewall nat add chain=srcnat action=masquerade" command and default route did the trick. the router passes traffic now!

thanks to everyone for their pointers,

hi,

from my limited knowledge, yes. all i did was ftp the *.npk file to the RB, then rebooted the RB. i connect to the wired network which the RB is filtering through a 7 mile, 5.8/2.4 Ghz wireless hop.

i need to upgrade the router OS from 2.9.34 to 2.9.42

hi, i would like to upload extra modules to my routerboard 532a but they are all v2.9.42 when my routerboard OS is v2.9.34. as a result, these newer version modules don't work. i need to upgrade my router OS to v2.9.42. i have a level 4 license. in the wiki, it has directions but it points to an &qu...

hi Craig,

it shows "v2.9.34", which is different than the version of user-manager (2.9.42). this is probably the problem then.

i currently have a level 4 license according to system/license.

how do i get my version of winbox up to v2.9.42 so it matches all the current modules?

hi,

no, it doesn't show up under /system/packages.

it does show up if i do a "file print" so i know it did successfully FTP to the routerboard.

when i rebooted, i did so through winbox, not from CLI, would that make a difference?

hi, i'm using a routerboard RouterBOARD 532a and administer it using Winbox V2.9.34. two days ago, the routerboard reset itself clearing all counters. it appears it rebooted itself since uptime reflected that. however, i'm not sure why "simple queues" counters all reset during this time. w...
