3COM is dead and taken over by HP. I still have over 40 3COM switches and most are 4400 or 4900. The dude worked fine until an update. You can blame it on the switches which is always the easy path. This is running on a server 2000 computer if this helps you any. The connections issue wouldn't be a problem on this machine as it allows unlimited. However there are two servers running this on an XP box without issues. These computers have less then 10 connections per site.

My dude server has been running now for 7 days without any ping issue since changing it to 2000 ms. Don't know what to tell you but mine is working without hiccup now.
