Re: LHG 60G experience

Trying to work out if I should waste my time trying a 320 metre link with a pair of Wireless Wires? Don't need 1Gbit - I'd be happy with 200 bit. Is this going to fly based on people's experience with latest firmware? Dude read the fcking post here. I've post that I have 399m link working 1Gbps and...

Re: Newsletter #84

This is a Friday question I don't expect anyone to answer but will there be T-Shirts at the UK MuM in Birmingham?
I really hope so.
I love t-shirts.
Yes. T-shirts, stickers and free routers ;)
Awesome on all counts.

Re: LHG 60G disable beam forming [SOLVED]

Beamforming works great, accurate alignment not really needed at all. Our experience with aligning the LHG have been anything but easy. We have a mere 300m link that seems to jump around signal wise and predictably drops in the rain. At first we thought it was the mounting bracket moving when we tr...

Re: Locked Out of Mikrotik

If the router you're using is essential for the companies business they should have a backup router pre-configured and ready to go in case of failure.
If they don't have one get them to get one.
Configure that one and when it's ready plan some downtime.
Swap.

Re: RB951Ui-2HnD PoE out failure.

We've had a few customers who had left it offline for longer periods of time and seen it come back as well but we hadn't tested that as a potential fix. Not that our customers would really like that solution but it might work for those folks I can't get out to right away. Thanks for the reply. Glad ...

RB951Ui-2HnD PoE out failure.

I work for a small WISP in the UK. We use the RB951Ui-2HnD as the primary router we give customers. This model has the single PoE out on port 5. We started using this port to power the Ubiquiti NanoBeam M5's we use for the CPE side of our wireless links. We have had a consistent failure when doing s...

Re: Wireless Wire 60Ghz

That signal seems off. At that distance you probably should be getting closer to the -50 area will near 100 signal quality.

Question of my own: The default setting for tx-power equates to what? Max?

Re: Significant improvement for 60 GHz solutions

Improvements in SW many times improve overall functionality. Therefore one can not say what's HW specification... better to refer to it as "system" specification. (...) So yes, SW improvements can considerably improve performance and capacity without any HW change. Remember that a phased ...
