our experience has been that it doesn't do all that well. If you turn off basically everything else (conntrack, queues, firewall) it will get by with 2 peers probably. It takes a long time to converge. we ended up moving to a powerouter 732

I think I figured out what is going on. I upgraded to RC7 and now on all my route filters the prefix is set to 0.0.0.0 when it was not set to anything before. I can not remove this. When I edit a route filter and click the up arrow next to prefix to remove it, it removes, and I don't get any errors ...

5.0rc5 BGP Communities not showing up

I upgraded one of our BGP routers to 5.0rc5 and it appears none of my bgp communities are getting set now. As a test, I simplified my filtering to add a community to all routes learned from a specific peer, but when I go look at the route in the routing table, it shows up there, says it was received...

thanks for the suggestions. we have tried local-pref but haven't achieved what we are looking for. I will try writing a script to enable/disable the advertisement.

Is there a way to do a conditional BGP advertisement in routeros? Here is my situation. I have 2 connections, a big pipe and a small pipe. The provider I get the small pipe from buys transit from some of the big tier 1s. They propogate my route advertisement to these tier 1 isps who then preference ...

same problem here. we have worked around it by using SNMP links instead of routeros link types. it is annoying tho!
