Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

It's an E3372h-153

Oh wait that's the old one. The new is not home. But it was branded with some obnoxious pink logo. Still working great.

Re: Easiest way to access router in app through WAN?

Ok, I'm sorry, I am a bit confused. My goal is to use the Mikrotik Android app to access my mikrotik routerboard. I also have a pair of Unify AP's connected to the routerboard which I can reach from a different android app, and they have their own controller software, (with some sort of dyndns again...

Re: MikroTik router with UniFi and "guest vlan"

I also have a MT router and unify AP's.
The WiFi setup in the unify software is a user friendly GUI. A working and safe guest network is setup by anyone in minutes, that's why I asked why he doesn't create the WiFi network there.

Re: MikroTik router with UniFi and "guest vlan"

May I ask why you don't create the wlans in the unifi client instead? It's very easy to do, and you don't have to configure anything in the router. If unifi client is located inside LAN, does this ensure strict separation of guest subnet from LAN? It's a special Guest WiFi config with short leases ...

Re: Easiest way to access router in app through WAN?

Hmm. Maybe I'm over-complicating things. How would average Joe do it? Say I make two narrow firewall rules for app-traffic in and out. (If I knew how) If I know my networks current wan ip from some other app talking to my system, how do I write the physical adress with ip and username in the app log...

Re: Easiest way to access router in app through WAN?

Thanks for a swift reply. About the local server, was my hopes that som sort of client could ping the app to report what the inbound wan IP is at the moment (not sure of the correct names of everything) and make a tunnel for the app in the firewall. That would keep it pretty secure and not leave any...

Easiest way to access router in app through WAN?

It would be fantastic if there was some sort of dyndns pairing to do when I am logged in to the router on my WiFi - or some other trick. I need to access the router in the app, outside the home network. How do I do that? Is it the romon agent that is the secret? Things to know: # I have a dynamic IP...

Re: Remote access from the Internet (WAN side)

I'm trying to access routerboard from the android app, wan side. Could the RoMON agent be used for this? If so, please redirect me to a setup page for dummies, or explain how it is done, Do I still need some kind of dyndns? Use case: Kid control at work. Homework & dishes done before play... Tha...

Re: Assigning a identity/hostname to a MAC address

Hi, and sorry for waking an old thread, but I stumbled on a way to identify every MACaddress, the easy way for dummies.,, If you use Kid Control , and make one kid named for example: "#Admin/System", you can copy all MACaddresses not belong to any kid in there and give them a comprehensibl...

Re: Plex + Dynamic IP + DHCP IP

I just discovered something interesting (well I'm new to this - you know this for sure) Running Plex playdevice and server on the same network made no traffic at all in this forwarding rule. If I used cellular data I got traffic. If i put server on a VPN I also get traffic. I suppose this is exactly...

Re: Plex + Dynamic IP + DHCP IP

Thanks for a swift reply. The MAC adress doesn't change of the server, only the DHCP adress. So it's in the range of 192.168.88.x (I tried 192.168.88.0/24, but no sucess) Right now it's steady actually. Great speed on plex, no errors - But i specified the DHCP to 192.168.88.27 where the server curre...

Plex + Dynamic IP + DHCP IP

Dear forum. This topic is so frequently asked I'm surprised it hasn't made it's way to the quick page of webfig, but I have read a lot of tutorials and I still can't make this work (well, using static DHCP adresses actually did give me green lights occasionally). I'm probably not that smart on the o...

Queues oh the queues

Hi and forgive me for not understanding what I am doing...queues are a pita for me. I have never gotten any of them to work. Maybe partially a few times but never completely locked down to a speed limit. Here's what I do: Fresh factory reset hEX. Got in with webfig this time, winbox some other time....

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

Only chimed in to give a little status update... I finally gave up on the 3387, my version does not speak mikrotisch, at all. (it went in the emergency kit for hiking...) Bought the 8372 instead. Oh my god...thats how easy it gets. #Reset the hEX to standard config. #Popped in the simcard in the 837...

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

I can tell you... This is pretty complicated stuff (for me at least) I think I have successfully flashed a good 6 or 7 ROMs on this little modem, and found this: If I flash a 22.xxx Rom onto it it shows as an LTE device in the hEX, but refuse to run (never a steady led, only flashing) also Mobile pa...

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

I'm just now finding out the problem with Hilink and Stickmode...
I have the wrong device ID. Mine is 0x1506, accepted ID is only 0x14db

Trying to change that right now. Managed to wipe it completely with a short circuit and now aiming to flash with working firmware.

We'll see how it goes 😁

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

I'm actually struggling with that at the moment. I can not add an LTE device no matter what I do.
The usbstick is inserted in the router and flashing turquoise.
In terminal I try to add the LTE device just as your lines with same mac-address. Nothing happens
It is not accepting this as an LTE device.

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

Allright... Tried this morning to repeat my half baked running sequence, without luck. #01: I manually reset the router (holding reset button while connecting power and release reset button while USR flashes, not after it's done) #02: I connect laptop into port 2 and start winbox, login on neighbour...

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

Thank you for the code...but this is only a 1/10 of a solution. I've just spent 6 hours trying to get this code into the router. It must have been pure luck in the past but I can not connect to a router without a bridge, so for all other newbies and for the future "Dummies"-book - you must...

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

Hello friend 🙂 Ok, my router is the hEX RB750Gr3 with latest stable build, and my usb-modem is a model E3372h-153, not operator locked. When I do a factory reset of hEX I start in simple mode. Is there anything I should do there? Then I have to delete the preinstalled bridge and then restart to get ...

Re: HUAWEI E3372 LTE USB Stick on the Mikrotik router

Except when I try. Many many times. Done full resets, deleted all router settings, worked from scratch - but I've never ever seen the device LTE like he does in the video. Really tried to complete every step. I go utterly bonkers... This is too hard for me. I'm not even sure how to use the terminal ...
