Bandwidth limiting per interface

Hi, What are my options for limiting bandwidth per interface? Scenario: - RB2011UiAS, v.6.32.2 - ether1 & ether2 (links) - bridge0 (ether3, ether4, ether5) - DHCP relay on bridge0 - ports are not switched except those in bridge I am able to limit egress traffic with a queue /queue simple add com...

Re: v6.30.2 bugfix release

Traffic on the bridge
It shows the same in all entries
Same here, downgraded to 6.29.1 same problem (on RB2011UiAS). Looks like a broadcast storm. Could you please open torch on bridge or on any of the ports in bridge? The traffic disappears on my router. Is it same with yours?

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

Could you elaborate a bit more what specific routes should I be looking for? Remember that the first rule of routing is that the most specific route wins. Surely you aren't using a /16 netmask everywhere. I'm assuming the ISP has allocated a /24 or /23 or some similar prefix length to you for your ...

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

[flash=][/flash] Why aren't more specific routes coming through the tunnel? The ISP3 interface is in the same /16 as your range - that's quite a large netmask for that interface - that looks odd to me. Make sure that's not mis-configured. Even if the ISP is having you use a /16 there - then as long ...

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

Ok - I've looked at your problem statement again - the thread was starting to veer away from the original problem. As I understand it: You have public IPs from R1, and use some of them on customers behind R3. If the link from R1 to R3 goes down, you want the EoIP tunnel between R1 and R3 to take ov...

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

ISP2 and ISP3 is the same provider on different locations. That doesn't matter. There's an entire metric in BGP, "med" which is dedicated to routing decisions between two ASNs with multiple links between them. In fact, some providers allow a private advertisement of prefixes longer than /...

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

Question / Suggestion:- Are you not able to run BGP with ISP3 ? that would allow for a much more consistent network setup .... setup eBGP with one peer on each of the routerboards. run iBGP between the three routers (a mesh) run ospf between the three, and your internal network. This way you can co...

Re: Force routing IPs through backbone

Hi, Here is the diagram. I actually know were the problem is, but I don't know how to solve it. On R3 (port ISP3), there is a public network /16 (for backup in case of wireless links goes down). I can actually reproduce this in our lab. The problem is the connected route on public port of R3, with d...

Re: VPLS stops working 1-way

Hi, Have you solved this one? I am having similar problems but it is the first time I am establishing a VPLS so I could be doing something wrong. I practically followed wiki example. Network: R1 <-- Nanobridge WDS link--> R2 <-- Airfiber link--> R3 (OSPF routable network) I am able to establish VPLS...

Force routing IPs through backbone

Hi, I would like some suggestions how to solve my routing problem. Here it goes.... I have a router, connected to ISP1 and to my wireless backbone. There is also a EOIP + OSPF tunnel through internet back to the backbone (backup line). Everything works smoothly. Sometimes just happens that our clien...

Transparent bridge over internet

Hi, I am looking for a solution that will transparently bridge two LAN networks over internet. The solution should be a standard one, not with proprietary protocols like EoIP. To simplify how can I connect two routers Mikrotik + Linux or Mikrotik + OpenBSD or Mikrotik + Cisco or Mikrotik + Juniper.....

Re: Layer2 GRE tunnel

This one was easy. It actually works. For future reference: 1. Establish a GRE tunnel as per WiKi: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Gre 2. Establish MPLS/VPLS tunnel over the GRE, check this one: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Transparently_Bridge_two_Networks_using_MPLS ...and it works.

Re: Layer2 GRE tunnel

GRE is a routing protocol. On Layer 3, Not Layer 2. It is compatible with Cisco GRE. Actually Mikrotik GRE is compatible with Cisco GRE, because Cisco developed this protocol. For Layer2 tunnels you need 2x Mikrotik because they have EoIP tunnel interface as option. So if you have any other brand t...

Layer2 GRE tunnel

Hello, What are my options to connect two sites with layer 2 capability mikrotik is only on one site? A customer requires us to establish a GRE tunnel with L2 capability. My idea was to create a simple GRE tunnel, and add a GRE interface to a bridge with some ethernet interface. But it looks that I ...

multiple default route on layer 2 ring

Hello, Case: we have a L2 wireless network in a ring topology. On the ring we have a couple of 100s routers (RB450G). Every router has its own IP network class for customers and APs. Routers (R1-R16) are facing L2 ring on eth1, other ports are connected to APs. On the network we run OSPF. Routers A-...

Hotspot radius groups?

Hello, I am trying to reuse a radius server, that is currently used for hotspot access on a second hotspot project.
