Re: VLAN Bridge/inretface/switch

I am just checking if I understand it correctly. Is it one or another config? Not both together, right. Setup VLAN on Bridge OR (not AND) setup VLAN on switchip ? Bridge = using CPU SWITCH Chip = HW VLAN processing offload if chip support (in my case Atheros 8327 - yes) is this correct VLAN config (...

I would not recommend doing that at all. You force the client to roam when it is not yet ready to, and so make the switchover rather noticeable for the vast majority of clients. And doing so also means the clients leaving your zone of coverage will be out of service sooner. So you leave Signal Rand...

Same SSID and password, and let the client decide. There will be very limited cases where devices that wont prefer 5G will need 5G. Re: Bondig WIFI links 60G and 5G

I wouldn't use LACP with links of different characteristics. It can be a nightmare. It's better to configure them in an active/passive fashion with the 5G link acting as a backup and forwarding packets only if the 60G link fails. Thanks for reply. But still bonding EoIP tunnels (and use Active back...

What kind of throughput do you get over the links?

Re: CAPsMAN Access Point Question

CAPsMAN is best way how to control more APs from one place (channels, access list, create more SSID like guest etc). So setup CAPsMAN at first AP A (as is first on way to Internet and its already your network GW). And second / AP B connect to CAPsMAN as CAP. AP A will have: CAPsMAN (channels, access...

Hi guys, I want create 60GHz link and have 5GHz link backup and fail over. When both on it will bond both link and final speed will be sum of both. If one link will go down, all will go over remining second link. Can this be done with bonding as both links have different speed? Like create EoIP tunn...

More IP from same router autodiscovery

Hosts Autodiscovery keep adding all IPs of one router as new hosts - so same router with 3 interfaces popup on map as 3 routers. How to "link" NIC uder one router/box and not have them as 3 devices?

Hi, I am playing with Dude and trying get signal strength, CCQ, TX rate etc. How you guys do it? Best way? I saw two ways: 1. using SNMP (any device with SNMP on), get OID with value, create function with code oid("oid number") and than use this function in data source, label, etc. 2. usin...

Btest, Traffic generator - Testting bandwidth of the link

Hi, long time ago I was always testing bandwith between two Mikrotiks with Btest tool. For example to test bandwidth on p2p link or between Mikrotik in local network and other one in internet. Now (I guess from time of bridge subsystem change), with new FW Btest always load CPU to 100% on both sites...

Re: HOWTO: Dual WAN PCC with Dynamic IP

Yes wrong /32 is one address. So it means that if WAN IP is for example 10.65.123.15/32 and I put into Address list 10.65.123.15/24 or 10.65.123.0/24 it will have same result (match adresses 10.65.123.1-255)?
