Re: station v station-bridge mode

Hi,

Are the wifiwave2 available for most devices? We have LHG 2, LHG5 and Sxt radios for clients.

Re: station v station-bridge mode

HI,

Thanks for the quick response.

It is possible to install the old drivers on this device? I notice the packages zip file there is the wifi-qcom and a wireless package. Is wireless the old driver package?

regards

Justin.

station v station-bridge mode

Hi, We have a private network of about 120 Mikrotik devices. Mainly separate locations connected by wifi (point to point or point to sector) They all use v6 of routerOs and the client sides are set up in station-bridge mode. Apart from some dodgy links with poor line of sight everything works well. ...

Re: sector client bandwidth test - fast upload - miserable download

Hi, -70/-70 was an average. They were changing in Winbox all the time. The only time I change the antenna gain is to reduce the power of it. I assumed that under "regulatory-domain", increasing the "antenna gain" would force the transmitted power to be reduced accordingly. I was ...

Re: sector client bandwidth test - fast upload - miserable download

still some more testing to do, but.... I change one Mant to be a sync master and the other to the a sync slave, put them on the same frequency and increased the bandwidth to 40Mhz XX. The bandwidth test from the 4 sector clients now goes over about 5Mbps. When both Mants were on different frequencie...

Re: sector client bandwidth test - fast upload - miserable download

I am using the built in bandwidth test. The network has very little traffic and I have used the bandwidth test many times without seeing this sort of imbalance.

Re: sector client bandwidth test - fast upload - miserable download

I was trying to reduce the power of the mant just in case it was too loud. I thought a signal strength of -70 was ok. I tried again with gain of 0. The downbload speed went up for a short time only. After a few seconds it reverted to 240Kbps and stayed there. Upload speed was bou 80Mbps. Thats a big...

sector client bandwidth test - fast upload - miserable download

HI, I have a Mant 2 12S with four client LHG 2 clients. All on 6.49.13. This install is 80km from the nearest town so any interference is my own. The Mant is configured for NV2. All four clients connect with TX/RX Signal of around -70/-70. There is very little vegetation to get in the way. With a ba...

Re: Multiple Powerbox Pros - poe-out supplying power, but no traffic

Powerbox Pro is 1000Mbs port, cAP Lite is 100Mbps port. Anything based on that ?

We have other Groove radios connected the same way and they are working ok.

same issue here, any updates?
Hi Mito,

When you have that problem, is the connected device still working as normal when connected to another router?

Re: Multiple Powerbox Pros - poe-out supplying power, but no traffic

UPDATE:

I just found another Powerbox that was working over the weekend and is now doing the same thing.

The cable test shows the same shorted pairs and the AP attaches is drawing power, but no data transfer is possible.

Multiple Powerbox Pros - poe-out supplying power, but no traffic

Hi, This is a problem I think we have had for while now. At the moment it is happening on two of our Power Box Pro's and recently happened on a third. The port that is powering an access point ( groove or capLite ) shows voltage and current consistent with the device that is connected. The device ca...

Re: Frequent route calculations and traffice dropouts

Some more testing... I had thought the route calculations may have been causing the traffice pause. With hindsight, that seems ridiculous now. I am using the bandwidth test (2k bps) from the central router to various routers to see where the pauses are coming from. I have seen a few route recalculat...

Re: Frequent route calculations and traffice dropouts

Hi I have been watching the ptp 2 links and the wifi connection between the two isn't broken. The log panels in WinBox both scroll at the same time, so if the connection was dropped I would expect the other side to freeze or disconnect from WinBox. I don't' see any log entries that indicate an inter...

Frequent route calculations and traffice dropouts

Hi, What causes interface change / route calculations to start? I am noticing this on some of our P2P Netmetal 5's. When it happens, traffice is paused for a few seconds. It occurs at random intervals but can happen a many times a minute. On one run ( two p2p links using nv2 ) I set the STP protocol...

Grooves, SXT's and others go into endless reboot cycle...some come back.

Hi, We have had a few of grooves, sxts and I think an LHG 2 go into an endless reboot cycle (not all at the same time). When this starts, I monitor the log and POE status on the port. I can see that the devices start to boot. The log shows the interface comes up and a few seconds later, the interfac...

FYI: 6.49 upgraded to 922UAGS-5HPacD ended badly

Hi, I just upgraded a 922UAGS-5HPacD to 6.49. I think I have become way too comfortable doing updates to remote devices. The package update went ok and it restarted. When I updated the RouterBoard to 6.49 and reset, it never came back. It's is very remote and I won't know what happened until someone...

Hi, I just upgraded a 922UAGS-5HPacD to 6.49. The package update went ok and it restarted. When I updated the RouterBoard to 6.49 and reset, it never came back. The POE status for the port it is connected to shows it is restarting every 5 or so seconds. When it is powering up and the ethernet port i...

Re: best way to prioritize IPSEC (wifi calling) over multiple routers and CAPSMAN

Thanks for the reply.

I am learning queues at the moment. I haven't done anything with DSCP yet, but I am sure it will make more sense once I go through the docs and test a bit.

Cheers

best way to prioritize IPSEC (wifi calling) over multiple routers and CAPSMAN

Hi, I have a remote installation with a central router and many access points managed by Capsman. Staff need to have access to Wifi Calling (VoWiFi?). Most of the access points are three or more point to point links away, so phone traffic would have to go through multiple routers. The Staff wifi has...

RB750P-PBr2 - regular resets on 12V, possible Groove issue

Hi, We are about to do some local testing on a couple of Power Box routers (RB750P-PBr2) do try and replicate a problem we noticed. When powered by 12V (solar system with large battery) and with one or two Groove devices attached, we noticed it was resetting itself at fairly regular intervals. This ...

Re: Disconnected, control frame timeout

HI Inox,

Did you ever work it out? My SXTsq Lite2 PTp usinv NV2 drops out within 30 seconds.

I am in the process of checking for silly things and getting some configs. I only get 10 seconds to login, export and down load the config files. Its about 400km from me at the moment.

Justin.
