Re: ISP only allowing approved CAT6 LTE equipment

When an NMO restricts the connection using IMEI, it almost always depends on business agreements with certain equipment providers and not because of technical reasons. My advice is to change/imitate (or copy) the IMEI from an approved supplier or get another NMO. I've dunit several times without an...

Re: ISP only allowing approved CAT6 LTE equipment

Why not simply try or ask them ? What could be the consequences ? I have and this was their answer: We can only allow devices which have been network approved from a quality and reliability perspective. We have identified a range of devices which specifically suite a Fixed LTE offer. BILLION: BiPAC...

ISP only allowing approved CAT6 LTE equipment

Good day We have a wireless ISP with decent LTE offerings that I'm considering, but there's a catch. They only allow approved hardware on their network. I don't believe they whitelist the devices based on their IMEI since I have successfully used approved hardware from other vendors on their network...

Re: Firewall considers packets invalid [SOLVED]

So after going through everything meticulously, even deleting and recreating firewall rules without much success I finally decided to try something extreme, re-installing the router OS. I simply went and re-installed the same version of the OS and magically all of my problems went away! This must be...

Firewall considers packets invalid [SOLVED]

I was hoping that someone can help me with a MikroTik firewall question. I have a MikroTik LtAP mini with two rules on the input and forward chains that drops invalid packets but there is a lot more traffic being dropped than I expected and I suspect a lot of them are valid packets. The log keeps on...

Cellular network blocking unknown LTE equipment

My cellular network blocks unapproved LTE equipment from connecting to their network. Is there a way to set the IMEI, device name and manufacturer of the modem to that of an approved device? Perhaps using the modem init? The modem currently returns the following values Manufacturer: AT +CGMI: "...

Re: DHCP clients join VLAN [SOLVED]

Thanks

I assume I can have the switch assign the VLAN to all clients by setting the src-mac-address to 00:00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00:00 ?

DHCP clients join VLAN [SOLVED]

Hello everyone

I have a network with two VLANs and would like to know if it is possible to get a DHCP clients to join one of the VLANs?
In short, the client isn't aware of the VLANs and the DHCP needs to instruct them which one they should join.

Thanks

Re: Proxmox & CHR for shared home network

I see a lot of people having a look at the post but no-one having any advice, so I thought I'll break it down a bit. CHR virtualization on Proxmox is supported with the following minimum requirements: Package version: RouterOS v6.34 or newer Host CPU: 64-bit with virtualization support RAM: 128MB or...

Re: LHG LTE kit overampllification [SOLVED]

Does a floor make some difference in this case? Hahahaha, no, the floor was even worse. I tried the coffee table, wall and ceiling but the window was the best. The sofa was sort of ok, but it encountered a lot of interference from the wife. I wanted to try it on the roof but the unit isn't roof com...

Re: LHG LTE kit overampllification [SOLVED]

Thanks for the information.
It would make it a lot easier if MikroTik mentioned the preferred RSRP range in the installation document.

Proxmox & CHR for shared home network

Hi I'm busy setting up a shared network and internet connectivity for a cluster of houses and need some advice before buying hardware. There are two ISP links that are being load-balanced by a firewall that needs to be shared between the houses. The total bandwidth usage is about 12GB per day of whi...

LHG LTE kit overampllification [SOLVED]

Hi I currently use a LTE modem to connect to my ISP and have to place it close to a window in the second storey to get a usable signal. I am planning on buying the LHG LTE kit and mounting it on a mast but am concerned that it may suffer from overamplification if I move to a location that is closer ...
