Even if ROS says IPQ4019 on board you should have an IPQ4018 according to the official specs, I have opened my hAP ac2 and it's an IPQ4018.Later I will unscrew board from enclosure and see if its IPQ-4018 or IPQ 4019-based.
Prolly RAM limitation, ath10k requires 256MB RAM for two radios for proper functionality. What went wrong? Which limitation did appear?
Storage is not an issue but RAM is, Qualcomm ath10k requires 256MB of RAM for two radios.hAP ac2 has the same wireless chip as the ac3. Most likely it's excluded from the compatibility list because of it's 16MB of storage.
First it's kernel and not kernal, second you need to create a supout file and send it to Mikrotik support email in order to properly report a bug.KERNAL panic after 3 days on rc2. ccr2004. no i won't log a ticket
Damn, that's as bad as consumer grade routers BUT at least you get proper WiFi from it.not yet ... this is not a new product but still is so poor features ... simple snmp is missing as well ...
ROS7 is the star citizen of networking.
JajajajajaVery reasoned post Chechito, much thanks! (or muchas grassy ass as I would say to my mother and then she would scold me and I would reply hoder (how dare) you speak to me like that)!
Does it has QoS options? Just noticed Qnap went into networking industry.well we can close this. RB4011 will go to market. since 70 days i have Qnap QHora-301W where wifi6 is working fine. there is mega limited options and firmware is poor but all is working fine + 2 10GB ports.
Better talk with seller if the unit it's still on warranty.Or prehaps I should check with the seller...
You can give it a try since my hAP ac2 only has 128MB RAMNone answered so far, for 256MB RAM devices, loading the wave2 package on arm32 (hap ac2) will work if external flash is connected to router?
ROS 7 packages are tied 100% to internal NAND only?
Even worse shipping ath10k devices with only 128MB RAM and then excluding those from the new WiFi drivers.Still, idk why MikroTik bring device with quadcore proc + 256MB of RAM but only 16MB NAND shipped...
Have you had luck with Mikrotik RMA process if the Chateau it's still on warranty? It's all academic now as the Chateau has given up the ghost. Completely dead. I tried a new power adapter but nothing
AFAIK the ingress keyword only works when CAKE is both the qdisc and the shaper such as in OpenWrt, when using ROS simple queues or queue trees the shaper is HTB with your qdisc attached to it.And can we get the "ingress" keyword ? It's useful
Send an email to Mikrotik support.hi. maby anybody have a wave2 rc2 for arm32? Thank you.
Yes, only the first batches came with 256MB RAM.do u have 128 mb?
My hAP ac2 can be updated just fine to any ROS version, I only need Netinstall when coming back from OpenWrt.
Currently it's running the 7.1 rc2 firmware provided by Mikrotik support through email.
I hope soBy the way, there's AX option in the wireless band settings of wifiwave2 interfaces. Does this mean that we will see WiFi 6 devices from Mikrotik soon? Maybe a wireless version of RB5009?
Are you using the wifiwave2 drivers nor CAKE/fq_codel/CoDel queues in your Audience?Audience is crashing regularly- like every 10-20h.
No support file created weirdly.
Changed to persist logs so will update you soon.
RB4011 is ok however.
I'm also interested to know how ROS handles qdiscs internally from the Linux perspective.Hi, since we don't have access to internal shell.
Could you set simple or queue tree with cake/fq_codel scheduler and share output from this command?
Code: Select alltc qdisc list tc filter list tc class list
Maybe it can do the trick but the simple queue setup I described some posts above it's working great for me.What if you try FastTrack winbox packets, will they avoid queue and maybe fix the issue until proper fix is done?
Wave 2 on audience can't do vlan tagging. srsly.....
Mikrotik employees use Winbox from their MacBooks using Wine. Are you all using WinBox under Wine too? Mention the OS for WinBox bugs please.
I hope MT can fix it on RC2 or at least before moving 7.1 from development to testing channel. And to the people wondering: yes, Cake is still broken and causes a kernel panic.
As @mkx said try to factory reset your Mikrotik and reconfigure it.If i plug my tplink router to the ftth box, it just works.. and if i connect the mikrotik HAP to the tplink router, I can get internet through the wireless network ... I'm so confused now..
On OpenWrt it's supported xDWave 2 cannot be supported on MEMORY deprived devices PERIOD. If you are hoping and praying that its possible you are dreaming in vivid color. :-)
Finally an ISP that cares about providing low bufferbloat to its customers, kudos to you :DI'm an ISP shaping traffic at the core.
:D+1 for fq_codel or cake
I have some old Android 2.3 phone that can connect without problems on WPA2/WPA3 Mixed mode-1 as older clients won't connect
Provide airtime fairness Feature instead as it will improve overall performance.
Export your config and netinstall :(I cant install current frmwre to hAP lite "smips".
no space! =(
I don't know embedded device programming :(We really need to get hAP ac2 into official OpenWrt branch...PD: I know I can just enjoy my OpenWRT powered ac2 and leave this forum but advanced routing features (like VLANs) are more polished on ROS.
Yes, make a backup to feel more comfortable anywaysCan I downgrade to this from 6.47 without losing the config?
The device was launched with 7.X out of the box, you can't go lower than thatdowngrade V7.1 beta2 impossible to downgrade Mikrotik chateau LTE12 stable version 6.47.3 no working Need help
Probably migrated the forum to new hardwareYep. So what's new or better?
MT should go back to the modular package system so you can remove the features you don't need (OpenVPN in this case)OpenVPN should be dropped in v7, make room for something more useful.
When the Routerboot problem gets addressed without the need of an U-Boot copy, I also hope it happens soon.P.S. It would be great to get hAP ac2 into official OpenWrt repositoryGot WPA3 personal working
Can't wait to play Crysis Remastered on the CCR screenWhat we REALLY need is some KVM virtualization, in order to run W10 and Crysis. We also need some Dropbox/Seafile functionality on the router.
Priorities people, priorities.
Wifi interface name > Wireless, toggle advanced modeWhere can I find this setting?Check if network mode is set to mixed and the network is using a channel that the device can recognize.
Only when using third party OS on MT hardware, otherwise noMikroTik does supply rocksolid WiFi solutions.
Agreed, maybe MT can make v7 lite and v7 full builldsMaybe some users use them to build a toy lab, but usually they will be running only system and wireless, maybe advanced-tools.
But MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, Hotspot... REALLY?
Band steering is more complex than making SSIDs the same, the AP needs to gather information from the environment and the client capabilities/signal to redirect clients to each band.do you guys know if band steering will be awalible in ros 7?
Thanks
I've heard TILERA architecture was slowing down ROS development cycle since it got deprecated from the mainline Linux kernel. Also it seems like development have really slowed down over the summer. It's been over a month since last release of anything...
The alternative will be to use OpenWRT if it's supported by your device nor buying from another brand. There is no solution to this problem. Mikrotik devices are not certified by the Wi-Fi alliance.
AFAIK Mikrotik uses its own drivers to allow faster kernel upgradesKernel 5.6.3, so little time after 4.x... Does it mean that RoS is using the official drivers, instead of Mikrotik's?
it feels a bit faster but maybe placebonew kernel mean better wifi performance?

The verify certicate option used to work in 6.47, I have the root certicate imported into the routerDoH works fine for me.
Just addedDid not select "Verify DoH Certificate" since this is just a test.Code: Select allhttps://1.1.1.1/dns-query
Don't use auto or XXXX channel widthsUse only wlan2 interface instead wlan3.
wlan3 was placed in this AP only for MESH purpose.
wlan2 can make 80Mhz channel width, wlan 3 support only 40Mhz channel width.
I'm running 6.46 beta 59 and it keeps dropping my phone. You can try to upgrade to latest 6.46 beta which they say got some important WiFi fixes, to see if your situation gets better. You can downgrade later if needed.
