Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

Okay, then I'll try with 6.48.5 when I Find the time. The test I did was with 6.49.9 I think.

Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

Okay, so I tested v6 (with and without downgrading the firmware and with different servers) on my CCR1072 at home, and to be brief, it did NOT fix the problem. I tried with just 400MHz CPU - with ( green ) and without ( yellow ) fasttrack: https://i.imgur.com/oBma1nA.png The 5gbs download is because...

Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

I do not know why its taking them so long to fix it - i asked multiple times and they cannot offer a date for this. I agree fasttrack is not a solution if you need queues for a pppoe server as normally - its just a way to test it. As for the v6 it does fix the problem as we are running it on v6 now...

Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

Just FYI for everyone so you are not in the dark. I opened a ticket for this issue with mikrotik on 7/04/2023 with ticket #SUP-112984 After multiple attempts and assists they managed to track down and isolate the problem on 26/04/2023. Unfortunately there is no fix at the moment. A workaround for t...

Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

I just did a new test that came in my mind, I tried to change the CPU frequency on my 1072 TO 400MHz, and 1200MHz, and got some VERY interesting results So basically, I tested the speeds both with fasttrack ON, and OFF, but on different CPU frequencies, and these are the results I got: This picture ...

Re: PPPoE upload speed problem

Only now I found some time to get back to this problem, as with every day, the more customers complain about the upload... I went and tested this a bit more, it is not just PPPoE problem as it seems, but PPPoE slows it down even more for sure. I used the following setup: cisco switch --------> CCR10...

PPPoE upload speed problem

Hi there, I have encountered this weird problem on my network, and I can't get my head around it, as i literally tried everything trying to solve it for countless days to no avail. I have a main CR1072 router (ROS 7.5) which is running PPPoE server and has 10/10gb uplink. For some reason, anyone con...

Re: Cat5e Cable

It is more than enough, i am using a regular 5e UTP for years outside now, and it is still holding strong.

Of course if you think you will mount something more powerful in the future, it aint bad to invest a little bit more in CAT6/7 so you could use the all more used 2.5/5/10 gb ethernet.

Re: Powering 2 devices from hAP ac3 PoE-out port

I tried doing something smilar with my hap ac3, i tried to power QRT 2 and hap ac lite at the same time. They worked. Kinda... As long as they were idle everything was fine, but the moment there was some traffic (thus more power usage) they would randomly freeze/restart. In summary, a big no-no. As ...

Re: Wifi RB4011 - HAP AC3 - HAP AC3 LTE

If someone has the non-LTE hap ac3, can get the ROS 7 with ww2 to work, it would be very interesting to see the performance difference. the CPU and RAM is OK, the only issue is the flash size. in theory one could just throw away all the other drivers and repack the NPK, but without signature it is ...

Re: Wifi RB4011 - HAP AC3 - HAP AC3 LTE

Don't know much about 4011 as i don't have it, but i can tell you that my hap ac3 wifi performance is lacking... I tried to tinker with the settings alot (and i mean - alot!), and don't get me wrong, the coverage range is absolutely fine if you ask me, but it gets totally beat in throughput by some ...

Re: Overclocking the CPU

Well if you really don't need that extra performance out of your CPU specifically, i don't think its worth it, as it ultimately shortens the lifespan of the device. I mean, if the CPU isn't high on temperature you won't kill it (in a few months) or anything like that, but for example when i overcloc...

Re: Eduroam station - EAP-TTLS/PAP support for wireless station

I am still looking for a solution... It's really stupid to flash my main outdoor station with Openwrt just because i need ttls-pap auth which is included in wpa_supplicant package... Is it maybe possible to use wpa_supplicant inside ROS? Or will support for the before mentioned auth in station mode ...

Eduroam station - EAP-TTLS/PAP support for wireless station

Hi everyone, I am wondering if it is possible to connect to eduroam wireless network ( which implements ttls-pap auth. ) with Mikrotik equipment as a station. I am looking for a solution literally for months, and went through like every thread that mentions this, and didn't get a clear answer. I kno...

Re: RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD wifi throughput problem

The AP gets flagged as "Running" only if 1 or more clients are connected to it. So it seems, whatever you are testing this speed with, is for some reason connecting to 2.4GHz band and thus you are getting that 300mb/s. If your testing device supports 5GHz, try disabling 2.4GHz on your AP a...

Re: Chain 1 not working properly - Basebox 2 [SOLVED]

For anyone reading this - the problem was in outdated RouterOS.

After updating to current (now 1-2 months old) stable release, the problem went away, and both chains perform the same, independent of each other.

Re: QRT 2 vs LHG 2 ( or XL version ) [SOLVED]

I went with QRT 2 as my final choice, the reason being small dimensions (it fits in my bag nicely). So far i can say the sensitivity performance is great, although CPU is not happy when i use NAT on faster speed, and there are some problems with DHCP client when i try just to make a bridge.

Re: QRT 2 vs LHG 2 ( or XL version ) [SOLVED]

I think it is marked as discontinued just recently, like in past month or so, and as for the licence, that is not the problem as i have some L4 laying around. So what you are saying is that the difference is basically just in their construction (should i say, appearance)? Like srsly, the more robust...

QRT 2 vs LHG 2 ( or XL version ) [SOLVED]

Hello everyone! I wonder, how come the price of QRT 2 is more than double of even the LHG XL 2 here in Croatia, and i don't see really any significant differences in their specifications that would justify that price difference? I mean there are some (appearance, size, 100 vs 1000mb/s eth. port, dif...

Chain 1 not working properly - Basebox 2 [SOLVED]

Hi, I noticed a weird difference between chain0 and chain1s performance. I have 2 separate antennas (for each chain), and i tried testing each chain performance individually (by disabling and enabling each chain TX and RX), and for some reason, no matter which antenna i connect, chain1 always has po...
