Re: SWOS MTU

All I know is the MTU issue was bad enough where I changed to an FS Switch and dumped the Mikrotik. No more issues with MTU.

Cannot connect to SwOS

I have a CRS305-1G-4S-1N. I can get to RouterOS no problem after I do a cold reset @ 192.168.88.1. I have tried everything I could find or think of to get to the SwOS with no luck. I went to System/RouterBOARD/Settings and changed BootOS to SwOS after which I cannot get to the SwOS web page after a ...

Re: SwOS version 2.12 released!

2.12 has many issues on CRS309. Worse being ports randomly shutting down and switch freezing which is totally unacceptable. With 2.11 ports will sometimes shut down if a computer is rebooted, but never while running. And we all know about the RX/TX flow control issues in 2.12 which is what I suspect...

Re: SwOS version 2.12 released!

So far so good with 2.11. No more freezes in the switch. Tried multiple restarts on systems.

RTSP usage

I started researching RSTP and my head practically exploded. I have a simple setup using SWoS. Using the CRS309-1G-8S+IN for SFP+ connectivity. I have the Ethernet port connected to an unmanaged switch which connects all my 1G devices and the firewall/router. I am not doing any bridging as I see it....

Re: SwOS version 2.12 released!

This morning I found the switch in a frozen state after computers were turn on and all the ports started turning on then off. I downgraded back to 2.11. First thing I noticed was the performance increased. Either there is something wrong with 2.12 or the switch itself. Time will be the test here. I ...

Re: Disconnects

I already saw those reports and disabled flow control. This is a case where the STP+ port transceivers are disappearing and only a power cycle gets them back. Happens when a computer restarts but not every time. Very intermittent. Never seen it happen while running. Just restarts.

Disconnects

I have a CRS309-1G-8S+IN with SWoS v2.12. Sometimes when I restart a computer, the SPF+ link goes off and doesn't come back until I power cycle the switch. The Cisco transceiver disappears from the SPF list. Is there another way to restart the port other than a complete power cycle. Also, why is thi...

Re: SwOS version 2.12 released!

Since flow control has to be turned off, should I also disable it in the NIC? Is flow control that important? If so, I think I may also go back to 2.11.

Issue with gateway using 2 mikrotik switches

I have one CRS-328-24P-4S and one CRS-309-1G=8S both using SwOS. The 328 is plugged into my firewall/router (OPNsense) along with many other devices and works fine. I purchased the 309 for expansion of SFP+ ports. If I plug the ETH port from the 309 into a 328 ETH port, devices plugged into the 309 ...

Re: SWOS MTU

I have had issues where the switch would freeze and I would have to power cycle because some ports were using different MTU's. I find it is best to keep all ports using the same MTU, then there is never an issue. I don't think SwOS can do MTU fragmentation. Unfortunately there is always some device ...

Those SR modules and OM4 cables worked like a charm. Thanks for the tips.

Re: SPF+ long distance cables

Thanks. That is definitely the cheapest way to go.
I will order some. I assume the SFP-10G-SR V03 is just a later release of V02 and not functionally different

Re: SPF+ long distance cables

So would that be a complete fiber cable with a 10GBASE-SR transceiver. Or is that different components? Is this the type of cable you are referring to? https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F2CX036-10M-10GBASE-Passive-Twinaxial/dp/B008DWBGIW or http://www.robofiber.com/sfp-10g-10aoc or are you referring to ...

SPF+ long distance cables

Newbie with SPF+ questions here. I need to have one SPF+ run on my new CRS328-24P-4S+RM device to go 10Meters. Should I purchase a passive or active cable? Other than cost, any up/downsides to either one? I read somewhere rule of thumb is active optical over 5M. Does this device handle active and pa...

Re: SWOS MTU

I have the CRS305 and see in the docs that Jumbo Frames are supported but when I ping testing the JF, I get hangs and errors. The most I can ping is 1472 MTU.
Is this a setting somewhere. I am using SWos
