Re: SFP RB4011

Hi Everyone. I've got a RB4011iGS+ and a Nokia G-010S-A GPON ONT with a Telus Pure Fiber here in Canada. This ONT works correctly in my hEX S, but I as this one can't handle 1 Gbps IPv6 traffic properly I went out and got a more beefy Mikrotik router. However, I can't get it to work properly with RB...

Re: Slow IPv6 speeds on v7.1beta4

ROS has a feature called fast-track. It decreases processing overhead for select packets, if configuration and traffic mix is right, more than 99% of packets qualify. This feature thus increases capacity of a device. In ROS v6 (currently stable and long-term versions) unfortunately it doesn't exist...

Slow IPv6 speeds on v7.1beta4

Hi everyone. I'm using IPv6 with 750/750 Mbps Internet connection and IPv6 provided by my ISP on a hEX S. My WAN is being connected using a SFP ONT and I notice a very weird behavior in my speed tests. If I disable IPv6 and do the speed tests, I can get very close to my nominal speeds, however, as s...

Re: Trying to get IPV6 working with RouterOS 6.48

First, what is "Fibre modem"? Check here: https://networkengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/64456/is-an-ont-a-modem/64461#64461 Second, make the WAN interface as null in the ONT/ONU. It will automatically turn into a simple layer 2 forwarding device aka bridge mode. Assuming your ISP...

Re: Trying to get IPV6 working with RouterOS 6.48

Hi. Thanks again for the info! If the prefix provided using DHCPv6 Client is still useful, how can I use it to advertise addresses to the hosts behind my hEX? I'm ok with having only one subnet for now. I tried to use the DHCPv6 Client to request a Prefix and used this prefix to advertise IP address...

Re: Trying to get IPV6 working with RouterOS 6.48

My fiber ISP has a modem which can only do Routing (no bridge mode). If they don't do bridge mode, the only way this will work is if their modem acts as a DHCPv6-PD server, and you can request a prefix from it by configuring a DHCPv6-PD client on the MikroTik. Unfortunately, it is most likely that ...

Trying to get IPV6 working with RouterOS 6.48

Hello all. I have a hEX S running RouterOS 6.48 stable. My fiber ISP has a modem which can only do Routing (no bridge mode). For IPv4 I added it to a DMZ and all is working fine, however I'm trying to get IPv6 working with it but I'm not able to move past being able to ping external addressed from M...

Re: Feature Request - Wireguard Protocol

If some one is interested and finds useful, I put together a quick script that gets a Wireguard interface and updates the endpoint IP address according to the IP address the domain resolves. This is great for who is running their wireguard server behind a Dynamic IP address. Hopefully we have a clea...

Re: Feature Request - Wireguard Protocol

Has anyone been able to set mikrotik as a peer to another existing wireguard server? Yes. I had an old experimental setup: in a computer at home one peer, a port directed in the router, and I used to test from my laptop. Now I transfered my laptop configuration to my mikrotik travel router and it s...

Re: v7.1beta2 [development] is released!

Is there a plan for resolving DNS peer names in WireGuard properties? or we are doomed to script/resolve/set wireguard peer endpoint? Yes, this is a must! Is so easy to do, since almost all the needed code is already there. +1 on that request. Using a domain would make things much easier indeed. Al...

I'm trying to set it up but I can't get it to work and in the current beta I can't get wireguard logging to better understand what is happening.

Re: v7.1beta2 [development] is released!

Is there any examples on how to configure wireguard as client on mikrotik? I'd like to connect my mikrotik router to an existing wireguard server. Also, while setting up the peer endpoint, only IP addresses are allowed? Can't I use a domain name?

Thanks!
