This FT keeps generating issues. My network worked without any issues (FT and FT over DS enabled) but when upgrading to 7.17 stable i could not connect two older ipads. Disabling the whole FT thing resolved the problem.
Asking for advise here: I've set my 2.4GHZ network to N only (and lower) as my (older) ring doorbell will not accept the 802.11ax standard. This works fine. Now i was just toying around with a wireless radio (teufel radio 360) and i was unable to connect it to the 2.4 GHZ 802.11n network, same appli...
Normally i would not be afraid to apply a new thermal pad - i've around long enough to even use a soldering iron on a pc mainboard.. but in this case the added complexity is that the existing pad seems to have landed op top of some ic's next to where it should be. Removal thereof is likely to cause ...
Yes - using 2 extra holes and a push pin solves the issues. The current issues are clearly a design fault. Seems MT used a PCB design bureau that does not have that much experience in this area given the design mistakes (heatsink, fan connector, fan noise). i rather pay 10-15 euro's more and have th...
Just wondering : could a free flying heatsink cause a short-circuit / be a fire hazard? If so they might be at risk of getting this device pulled from the market..
Or am i just talking bs here?
In any case i am going to hold off a new purchase until this is fixed (vertical mount is required for me)
Got surprise - after CRS310 worked in vertical state (it is allowed state due to we have corresponding wall mount holes on the case) I heard that fan started work much noisier even if no any traffic load. Opened the case and saw this :( : https://ibb.co/PQS5fYq Question 1 to Mikrotik team - may be ...
Warning - your CRS310-8G+2S+IN unit might have a loose heatsink inside! Just received my CRS310 and was annoyed by the cooling fan noise. Looking into the cause of this i found a youtube video discussing the move the swOS and a cooling fan replacement where i noticed 1 heatsink being on the side whi...
Hi Everyone, Potentially a stupid question (apologies up front) but i plan to install a netbox 5 + 2 HGO antenna's on my shed in the garden. Looking at the pictures i see no way to put the top cover on the netbox when the 2 HGO antenna's are mounted. Can anyone provide some advice on how to install ...
Just did some testing - interestingly enough MT does Ce by default. So taking wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels for 20/40Mhz : From the tabel one would assume you need to use channel 38 as the frequency to put in but that is not the case...it needs to be channel 36 I'll ...
Hi everyone. Trying to define and import the Wifi bands - but importing seems to be impossible as i get an error when importing the frequency range. Am i missing anything here? i have tried putting quotes around the range but to no avail... Table below: /interface wifiwave2 channel add band=5ghz-ax ...
Well - i went ahead and defined 6 virtual AP's in total (3 on 2.4GHZ and 4 on 5GHZ) - and things did not work very well - i had to disable a few to get things working again. I wonder whether it makes sense to ensure that the total combined channel width of the virtual AP's is equal to the base chann...
Thanks for all the hard work - but a large number of users are still suffering from non-working sfp adapters in the RB5009's One user is running a RB5009UG and this one does work while a larger group of other users (both RB5009UG as well as RB5009Upr) suffer from a problem with non-working sfp (fs.c...
Hi all, I keep experiencing issues with generic (fs.com) sfp adapters in the RB5009UPr (not receiving any data). To add to the frustration the problem does not seem to exist in the RB5009UG which makes it even more puzzling. Anyone else experiecing the same problem? Running on routerOs 7.9rc1 connec...
While MT indicated that they implementated some fixes in 7.8rc3 it still does not seem to work with my setup. Still sticking to the TP-Link media converter for now.
No, it's not. The RB5009 is quite picky with SFP(+) modules. Many do not work, but do work on RB4011 (which also required many ROS upgrades to solve SFP problem back when it was new). The most annoying thing is everything looks fine for not working SFPs: It is present and shows RX power, but here i...
Guess the cheapest way forward is to adapt LuckyLuca solution - get a tp-link media adapter and have that one handle the spf adapter compatibilities. I am going the down the same route for now - Ordered my tp-link adapter from Amazon.de for around 21 euro's (incl shipping). I will use the media adap...

Hello prmfeddema, Did you ever manage to solve this problem. I just got my rb5009 and i am facing almost the exact same problem. I have a SFP-GE-BX40 from fs.com and my isp is also Delta. I am seeing RX power on the sfp but there are no RX packets coming in. I have also tried the sfp module that De...
[quote=prmfeddema post_id=970466 time=1670233474 user_id=171075] so we are wondering whether the RB5009 would only work with sfp+ adapter? @prmfeddema I only wanted to point out that the RB5009 will work with a sfp adapter (1G) ; no sfp+ adapter (10G) needed. ...
Still having issues with generic BiDi sfp and Delta fiber netherlands (SUP-100127). These SFP BiDi adapters are simply not working - multiple users are reporting the same problem. SFP BiDi adapter is a generic FS.COM one and is also EEE compliant - hence the issues seems to be completely on the RB50...
Thanks - i will try that one. I was considering a 10G sfp+ module but that is not available as a BiDi with the required wavelenghts. I also got confirmation that my existing 1G sfp is also EEE compliant so it all seems to point back to the RB5009 not accepting the my sfp. I will compare it to yours ...
Addition: there are at least three other users suffering from the same problem - and one these has successfully established a connection with another piece of his own hardware - effectively ruling out the possibility of a faulty RB5009 - the problem seems to located in the hardware compatiblity betw...
No, i am talking about the Dutch Delta Fiber network company - which owns Caiway. They also offer a 8GB fiber connection which will probably move up to 25Gbps on the long term - but for now i'm aimaing at 1Gbps Anyway - i am using a generic FS.com adapter (this one: https://www.fs.com/de-en/products...
Good morning everyone, A number of users owning an RB5009 are unable to connect to delta fiber networks using their existing sfp adapter (adapter and config are running fine with a HexS) so we are wondering whether the RB5009 would only work with sfp+ adapter? Is there anyone who can shed a light on...
A number of users (including myself) having a rb5009upr+s+in are reporting problems connecting to Delta Fiber networks in the Netherlands. Not sure if this is due to sfp compatibility or routerOS bugs. Config issues do not seem to be at play here as the config and sfp module works flawlessly in a He...
Thanks for all the hard work in the app over there years - but can i make a suggestion: Mikrotik seems to be only one who understand kid control properly and while i have no problem using winbox to do settings, my other half just wants to use the app. That being said: the kid control menu in the app...
I've already figured out that the bandwidth limiter can be accessed through the advanced setting menu - but i would appreciate a more simpler menu due to wife acceptance factor :-) as for using different mac addresses: the iphones are already doing that automatically so i get that disabled on their ...
Hi all, As most, if not all vendors, except for MikroTik do not seem to get it on how parental controls should work. Now i am using the HexS to control access. Unfortunately the apps (both IOS as well as Android) do not offer the possibility to set bandwidth limitations. Would this be available on t...
So here is the current config: Updated infra2.jpg As you can see i nicely get the WAN ip address and pass this on to my asus router and it works very well - however the full objective to have IPTV running over the LAN (after the Asus router/mesh network) is not yet achieved. Config: # jan/04/1970 16...
Apologies for the late reply - all my time has been taken up by work. Thanks for the input. I have the internet bridge working now - i will post the config and new diagram shortly. Remaining actions are to get full IPTV (i only get a part of the channels) and security in place. Diagram and config wi...
Hi Jarda, thanks for the reply. I've tried the bridge option but this is not working for me (most likely due to my ignorance). I'm getting an ip on the sfp1, but no ip on the vlan100. Also the ip is not propagated to the connected pc on lan port 2. Would you be willing to help me out (or would you h...
Hi All, I'm looking for directions/help to get the WAN IP passed through on Lan port 2 (where another router will pick this up). I already have the bridge working picking up WAN/Internet traffic on VLAN 100 back to the lan ports (192.168.x.x) - but i want to get rid of the NAT here. any help/sample ...
Hi all, I'm looking for pointers/help to get a transparent bridge (with vlan's) working. I have a setup where my own router (2x asus RT-ac68u) is behind the provider's router (genexis) but this causes double natting. Of course i could setup the asus routers in access point mode but then i lose paren...
