There´re no really subnets, as my provider ist working with host-routes. i.E. First IP. 217.91.124.122/32 Second IP. 217.91.124.156/32 Gateway for Both: 217.5.98.168 I don´t think that my provider will change subnets, as the complete order and ip-assigning is an automatic process. I think I will hav...

Load Balancing two adsl-lines of same provider with same gw

Today I got a second adsl-line from my provider. No I have two adsl-lines with static IP. What I want to do is load-balancing between the two dsl-lines. My problem is, that both adsl-lines use the same gateway (as it´s the same provider). Therefore I´m not able to enter several default-gateways, bec...

Yesterday, I tried following:
- WPA-PSK between 2.9 RC2 and OpenWRT+WPA-Supplicant
- WPA-PSK between 2.9 RC2 and Odysse-WPA on Windows XP.

Both worked fine with TKIP and with AES.

Yet, integrated WPA-Client of Windows XP does not work with 2.9 RC2. But this does not really matter :)

I tried it several times with TKIP and several times with AES. But I did not try it with an commercial Client like Odyssey Client. Is it possible for you, to test WPA with the Windows-XP Built-In Client? I´ll try RC2 amd Odyssey this evening on my XP-Boxes and WPA-Supplicant on my OpenWRT-Box. I´ll ...

I can report that MikroTik AES works with LinkSys wireless devices... How did you configure your linksys. I tried to use a wrt54g in client mode and mikrotik-os in ap-bridge mode both using aes. The wrt54g connects fine to the ap. But the performance is very weak. Ping responses within the same sub...

That sounds good.

What I want to do is to run Mikrotik RouterOS in AP-Mode with AES encryption and use an 802.11i Client-Bridge on the User(Client)-Side.

This would be a more secure alternative to WEP or just WPA.

Required Quality for PPPoE

I want to build a routed wireless backbone with some accesspoints for the custommers. Within this backbone there´ll be one pppoe access concentrator. All accesspoints have an EoIP-Tunnel to the pppoe access concentrator, therefore, the custommers should connect the pppoe access concentrator. Are the...

ALSO most residential grade DSL/Broadband routers support PPTP.. I know the big names do, Linksys, Netgear, etc.. and its becoming more and more standard on residential routers. Many routers support PPTP. But I don´t know any non expensive consumer router that supports "MPPE-Encrypted" PP...

My users are using a simple WLAN-Bridge which only support WEP or WPA. Behind this WLAN-Bridge, they currently use a common DSL-Router doing PPPoE. Mostly, those cheap DSL-Routers do not support any kind of encrypted vpn tunnel. Therefore, the bridge must do the encryption. Many of my users a consid...

WPA-PSA

Any news about the integration of WPA-PSK in MT RouterOS? Can I expect WPA-PSK support still this year?

Thanks so far.

Have a nice day,
