how do I pass traffic back up the network?

Help! What firewall rule(s) do I need in order to ping backwards through my network??? (I know this is a poorly worded question) I am trying to discover the devices on my network. When I installed the Dude to the remote PC (100.0.0.15) I can see all the devices on my network and I can ping from (100...

the dude can't ping

I have a quick question. I am trying to initially configure/discover all the devices on my network in the Dude. When I installed the Dude on the client PC (Reinert) everything is found but I can't get the Dude to discover all the devices from a PC on my local network. Why can I ping RouterB in Winbo...

What to do - DHCP

Okay, I've been trying to figure this one out for a while now and I just wanted to see if I could get any hints. I am trying to send/recieve a DHCP request/response to a DHCP server across my network. The DHCP server is connected to the ether1 interface of the RouterOS PC http://i38.photobucket.com/...

Re: Bandwidth Testing

Thank you Normis and Hulk. If it wasn't for the tremendous support I get through this forum I probably would have quit using this product long ago. I hope I can repay the favor one day. Also, I did the new tests and now I'm even more disappointed. At a glance could you tell me if these are typical r...

Bandwidth Testing

Recently I used Winbox's (Bandwidth Test) tool to try to find any bottlenecks in my network. I attached a picture of the results I got. My question is why is the PC running RouterOS sending/receiving so much faster than the other devices? Do I have something misconfigured?

Re: stupid simple DNS problem

SurferTim,
Thanks for the suggestion!! I ended up resetting all the devices on my network then I re-entered all the routes until everything was back up and running. I will keep your suggestion in mind next time I am troubleshooting ;)

stupid simple DNS problem

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me. I am unable to traceroute a domain name (google.com) using WinBox. I attached a pic of my config, I am trying to use OpenDNS's DNS server (208.67.222.222). I am able to traceroute to the DNS server I configurated (208.67.222.222) but not a domain name. H...

suggestion please

Hi, With all due respect, if this is the wrong thread for this question will somebody please suggest where I could post this question. Since there are quite a few WISP operators on this board, I thought this would be a good place to ask. I was wondering if someone could suggest an 900 Mhz antenna fo...

Re: 133/c initial configuration

Normis, thanks for your help. I finally got it working properly after upgrading to RouterOS 3.9 and following the guide while verifying each step. I am just getting acquainted with Mikrotik and I'm loving it just about as much as I am hating it (which is a good thing). This forum has answered many q...
