Re: resetting mikrotik without losing remote access

You could reset and have the device run an initial script.
/system reset-configuration run-after-reset=config.rsc
The config.rsc must be stored in the /flash folder. Details can be found here: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:C ... tion_Reset

Hi all, I'm unsure where to start the next project step and hope someone can give me an advise or give me a direction. Re: No client to client connection [SOLVED]

So, I finally found the solution and will post it here for others having the same issue. The solution is that in your capsman configuration you need to set multicast-help=full. Not sure if I can explain why, but finally found the solution on google/stackexchange. /caps-man configuration set multicas...

Re: No client to client connection [SOLVED]

Still doesn't work. What I did was basically clean up the config by removing the unneeded SSIDs and restarting the APs in order to reprovision as @gotsprings mentioned. My concept is to have 3-4 APs in the end, managed centrally by capsman on the RB3011. Clients connecting to the Wifi will be in VLA...

Re: LTE failover access [SOLVED]

@plani: Did you succeed? Sorry @farshield I missed your post. The answer will not be of much help: No, I didn't because I went down another path. As the LTE-modem in my LtAP seemed to be defect, I had a weak moment and bought an SXT-LTE kit which I mounted on my roof. This is then connected to a de...

HI all, I have a running network with VLANs, thanks to this forum. Part of this network are 2 Mikrotik AccessPoints (1x cAP and 1x wAP) managed bei capsman on my central router (RB3011). Assigning WiFi-Clients to VLANs inclulding according DHC-Lease and everything works just fine....at least I thoug...

Hi Sindy, I'm not sure, but I believe I already saw the LTE device last week. thanks @mkx, I just don't understand Answer c) Maybe there is a misunderstanding. Every VLAN will get it's own /24 IP-Network, So an device plugging in to a "catch-all-VLAN1" will get address from e.g. 192.168.199.0/24, where the actual LAN for example resides in VLAN100 using 192.168.100....

So, as mentioned previously, this approach of configuring multiple bridges on a switch and connecting each bridge with the bridge on another switch is not elegant, to say the least.
