Re: Double-check my first hEX PoE configuration [SOLVED]

Sounds like a very reasonable suggestion in case the hEX PoE were my main router, which it currently isn't.
WAN ports ARE NOT on the bridge!!
Yeah, that's what I realized in #3.
/tool mac-server mac-winbox
set allowed-interface-list=none
Change to LAN
I only use Linux.

Re: Double-check my first hEX PoE configuration [SOLVED]

Wow so the ISP router provides you two private WANIPs one DSL sourced and one LTE sourced but from the same gateway IP? Basically yes. So no public IPs involved here right? Right. Do these come out on different ports on the ISP router I think the policy-based routing decision (which decides which p...

Re: Double-check my first hEX PoE configuration [SOLVED]

Because pfSense cannot handle having the same gateway IP on both wan interfaces (at least not if automatic failover is desired).

MikroTik RBGPOE - usable as PoE splitter? [SOLVED]

Is it possible to use two RGBPOE to inject and extract power from cabling like this:
(inject power via 5.5x2.1mm plug) RGBPOE <---> RGBPOE (extract power via 5.5x2.1mm male-to-male adapter)

Re: Double-check my first hEX PoE configuration [SOLVED]

Actually both, but the sole purpose of the router part is to provide lte fallback: eth1, eth2 (are supposed to act like a router) eth1, eth3, eth4, eth5 (are supposed to act like a managed switch) The above config does exactly what I need, but I'm not really convinced of having found an ideal config...

Double-check my first hEX PoE configuration [SOLVED]

I recently purchased a hEX PoE and this is the first time I have done any kind of Layer3 configuration on a MikroTik device. CRS112-8P-4S-IN - To Buy or Not to Buy (in 2021)

I'm about to pull the trigger on a CRS112-8P-4S-IN, but I still have a couple of questions in mind: Would you bet on MikroTik releasing an updated version of this model within the next two years? How much additional power does each S-RJ01 module draw during idle? Is the idle power consumption compar...

Re: "antenna gain" missing in 6.46.8?

@normis, why are you not implementing a proper way to reduce the power output by x dB and why are you not updating the wiki to at least give a hint on how the user is supposed to reduce the power output? The way you handle this topic makes me not want to buy a MikroTik AP ever gain.

I thought I read everything I could find including the relevant wiki pages, but I guess I didn't. Sorry! I did turn off the 'update time' but it made no difference and since the public IP address was displayed even with the DDNS service turned off, I didn't look any further, which was a mistake. Dis...

Yes, but I also wanted to know what kind of problems might arise with my current configuration.
Which problem specifically page number para #?
Take a look at the "VLAN in a bridge with a physical interface" section (the link in my above post should point right at it).

I am by no means an expert, so it may well be that I simply don't recognize a mistake. That's why I came here.

System > Shutdown. But you will need to reconnect AC plug or PoE. Would be great if there was some kind of Wake-on-LAN feature. Or you can disable "most" things on it, like disable WLAN from a scheduler, I tried that, and the lowest power consumption I was able to achieve so far is 3.4 W.
