Help configuring jumbo frames on CCR2004 VLANs

I'm having problems finding all the required settings for enabling jumbo frames for VLANs on my CCR2004. I thought I got everything properly configured (router config below), but Winbox shows an actual MTU of 1500 for all VLAN interfaces. The bridge itself shows 9000. Ultimately what I need is all V...

Re: BGP Configuration with CCR2004 and Vyos VM assistance [SOLVED]

In case anyone stumbles on this in the future with a similar issue, I'll post my solution. I finally got the problem solved, by using peering addresses on the same subnet. My original configuration had them on different subnets (but fully routed to each other).

Re: BGP Configuration with CCR2004 and Vyos VM assistance [SOLVED]

So I tried to configure both the CCR2004 and Vyos router for BGP. However, the two are not peering. I can ping each device from the other, but a BGP session is never established. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? CCR2004: /routing bgp peer print status Flags: X - disabled, E - established 0 name=&qu...

BGP Configuration with CCR2004 and Vyos VM assistance [SOLVED]

I'm building out a virtual environment, which is connected to my CRS317/CCR2004 (see attached diagram). Currently I have a static route set on my EdgeRouter12 which covers the whole private 172.16.0.0/12 address space and forwards it to the CCR2004. However, now I'm adding a Vyos router VM at 172.26...

MTU/L2 MTU configuration help for bridge/VLANs

I'm having an issue getting end to end MTU of 9000 set within my CRS317 switch, running RouterOS v6.48.1. I used the command below to successfully set the mtu and l2mtu on the physical ports. This is reflected in WInBox for each port. The bridge now also has a L2 MTU of 65535 but an Actual MTU of 15...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

It seems a workable configuration, possibly something will pop up when you try to actually use it ;-) Another question: does the LAN GW (@10.13.2.1) know about CCR2004 being gateway for subnets 172.26.11.0/24, 172.26.12.0/24 and 172.26.13.0/24? If it doesn't, you'll have to configure some NAT on CC...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

Ya, that totally makes sense. After more thought, I realized it doesn't really make too much sense to connect the MGMT port on the CCR2004 since I can already access the router via the 10.13.2.10 address. So I removed the connection to the CCR2004 MGMT interface. That should resolve the dual route i...

Re: CRS317 trunk VLAN configuration help

Thanks! I've significantly modified my configuration based on your links and more research. Can you review to see if I made any mistakes? # Setup OOB management interface /interface ethernet set [ find default-name=ether1 ] name=MGMT /ip address add address=10.13.2.12/24 interface=MGMT network=10.13...

MKX, thank you a million times over! Great explanation and very helpful code example. What you said makes sense, super informative! I've included the latest config, below, incorporating your code samples. I also modified the MTU size for ports 2-12, per understanding your MTU comment. # Setup OOB ma...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

Your setup as per network diagram would actually work without any bridge. You actually set up things that way, you just don't know what to do with bridge. Just omit all setup under /interface bridge . And in order for MGMT to work, you'd have to rename interface ether1 to MGMT: /interface ethernet ...

Re: Setting up 1Gbps MGMT port on CRS317 and CCR2004 for out of band management

Thank you both for the replies. I'm brand new to Mikrotik, and still trying to process all the information and get a working CRS317 and CCR2004 config on paper. I have a network diagram here, that should help explain what I'm trying to do with the 1Gbps "management" interfaces. Basically I...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

Ok so here's another stab at my configuration. I think I'm getting a bit closer to a working config. Would greatly appreciate input on what is wrong. I'm still not sure whether I can/need to assign an IP address to sfp-sfpplus1 (which is in a bridge). Per the network diagram in the original post, my...

Re: Setting up 1Gbps MGMT port on CRS317 and CCR2004 for out of band management

Ok, that makes sense. So to setup the management interface on the CRS317 would I do something like: /ip address add address=10.13.2.13/24 interface=ether1 network=10.13.2.0 /ip route add distance=1 gateway=10.13.2.1 /ip dns set servers=10.13.2.200,10.13.2.201 For the CCR2004 router: Question: Does s...

Setting up 1Gbps MGMT port on CRS317 and CCR2004 for out of band management

I'm in the process of getting the configuration for my CRS317 and CCR2004 ironed out. After a LOT of Googling and reading, I've come up short on how to configure the 1G MGMT port on both devices for out of band management via the CLI. The OOB MGMT configuration I need is super simple. No VLAN, just ...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

Not good. /ip address and /interface vlan objects should not be attached to interfaces which are a member of a bridge, but the bridge itself. What interface is MGMT - there is nothing which creates an interface with this name, or renames an existing interface to this. You have two default routes wi...

Re: CCR2004 Beginner inter-VLAN Routing and upstream LAN questions

You cannot route VLANs - they are ethernet / layer2, IP routing is layer 3. Attaching an /ip address to an /interface vlan on an interface (or bridge containing one more more interfaces) will automatically create static routes for those address subnets. Yes, sorry I misspoke about routing VLANs. Th...

Re: RouterOS v7.1beta3 - No Level3 Hardware offloading after enabling l3hw=yes on CRS317 [SOLVED]

What kind of L3 performance is to be expected with the beta hardware offload? I'm looking for a MikroTik device that supports both very good 10gbps switching performance, and also multi-gbps L3 throughput. Without the L3 hardware offload on the CRS317, it seems routing performance is horrible.

CCR2004 vs. CRS317 for 10Gb home lab /w routing

I'm a bit confused about the best 10gb SFP+ switch/router for my home lab. I initially thought the CCR2004 was the right choice, but then I was reading its switching performance was terrible. My requirements include: -Support at least 10x SFP+ 10Gbps ports -Good 10Gbps switching performance -Good L3...
