SFP Throughput Issue

Hi all, I have 2 x CRS317 switches connected with 10gbps BiDi sfp (10km). Rx Signal on Switch A is -18dbm, Rx on Switch B is -20dbm. Tx on both is around -1dbm. When I do a bandwidth test From SwA to SwB, download speed is normal eg. 380Mbps (due to cpu), but upload is around 1Mbps. The inverse is t...

Re: VLAN Setup Help Needed [SOLVED]

Thanks for the reply.

I did however find the solution. It was as simple as setting the bridge PVID to 112 and now I can access the mikrotiks on internal IP's without needing the management vlan.

VLAN Setup Help Needed [SOLVED]

Hi All, I am about to rip the last few strands of hair out of my head. As per the attached image, we have a CCR1036 hosted in a remote datacenter. Connectivity to this router is provided to us via 2 separate fiber lines on VLAN ID112 (Not the real id). I have created a VLAN interface on Router A on ...

Simple Queue Bandwidth Distribution

Hi All, I would like to get some clarity on simple queues. So lets say I have created a Parent Simple Queue (PQ1) with 100Mbps Upload/100Mbps Download max limit allocated. Queue type is pcq-u/d/default. Then I have 4 queues created with the parent queue set as PQ1. Q1 = 100Mbps Q2 = 50Mbps Q3 = 25Mb...

VLAN Question

Hi All, Ok so I have managed to wrap my head around the whole Bridge with VLAN filtering. I got it working and all is good, except for once filtering is active, I lose the ability to access the mikrotik via IP and MAC. I want to be able to access the mikrotik from anywhere in my network. So currentl...

Re: VLAN Between 2 Bridges (With Hardware Offloading)

Thanks for the info so far. Below is the config of the 2 routers. I basically just added an vlan on each router under interface Then on router B I added the vlan interface to the bridge ports. But on the bridge I am not getting the H flag on vlan interface, and router A does not have a bridge. Route...

VLAN Between 2 Bridges (With Hardware Offloading)

Hi All, I am struggling a bit to get to get my head around a VLAN setup I need to implement. At our datacenter we have a CCR1036 (router A), with no bridge. At another location we have a CRS317 (in RouterOS Router B) that is bridging all ports. These two routers are connected via a MetroNet Fiber li...

Remote SSH Ping, Get Count

Hi All, I am working on a script for failover reasons. I wish to get the the count of successful pings from a remote mikrotik to a remote host. Currently the command I am using is: /system ssh-exec address=***.***.***.*** command=":put ([/ping 192.168.254.1 interface=vlan10 count=5])" This...

Bridge Setup with Failover

Hi Guys. I hope someone can help me. Below is the basic layout of my hypothetical network. All Routers are in bridge mode, with all ports of each respective router on the their bridge. https://i.imgur.com/7gNxU3Q.png Segment 1: Router 1 connected to Router 2 via Fiber Segment 2: Router 1 connected t...

Re: "Your Freedom" app😡 [SOLVED]

If you know the IP address of the server its connecting to, you can drop all traffic to that IP address.

And sindy you are correct that sometimes the fiber links go down one-way, so thats is something else to consider

Re: Layer 2 Failover Setup Help

For the sake of clarity here is a new image: https://i.ibb.co/34W0wsN/NewImage.png During normal flow, traffic should flow from: R3 -> R1 -> Sw -> CCR R4 -> R2 -> Sw -> CCR If lets say link between R1 & switch goes down traffic should flow: R1 -> R3 -> R4 -> R2 -> Sw -> CCR And so on. To make th...

Re: Layer 2 Failover Setup Help

Hey sindy, a virtual link is easy, you cant touch it smell it feel it, but its there ;-) I would guess he means the physical cable linkage so that if a rat eats a cable between server and right or left side, the connectivity lost to clients can be re-established via the other hardwired (not chewed)...

Re: Layer 2 Failover Setup Help

Well, I have a problem to understand what a "VLAN link" actually means... Thanks sindy, Yeah so the two vlan links are seperate fiber links that we lease from a provider to a datacenter where they go into the datacenter switch (which we have no access to) and those vlans are assigned to t...

Re: Layer 2 Failover Setup Help

Thanks for the reply. The PPPoE is not a concern for us, as it works 100% when there is a failure on one of the vlan links. Its just that we have to manually enable/disable the backup link on the routers.

Layer 2 Failover Setup Help

Hi All, This is my first post, so please be gentle hehe. I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction. Attached is a rudimentary drawing of our network. CCR1 has 2x PPPoE servers running. One on VLAN10 and the other on VLAN11. There is no bridge on this CCR. In the normal flow of th...
