Re: With issues understanding firewall rules with mikrotik, migrated to fortigate

Indeed, fortigate is more appropriate for the uber web gurus. For example, similar to Fortinet we use Palo Alto modules on 1 of our environments (services > 100k users, full UTM/SSL-decrypt/webproxy/... enabled) that cost 6-digit numbers in euros only for a single line-card.... For other router brands like fortinet, cisco, juniper usually the routers have the following stats

Concurrent Sessions (TCP)???
New Sessions/Second (TCP)???

So can someone please post the stats for these metrics for the CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS

So essentially i need so many rules, then what is use of the interface list then? When using interface lists, it doesn't matter how many "forbidden" VLANs there are, you only add interface to interface list and the rest remains the same. Can even be dynamic (e.g. via scheduled script or w...

Re: firewall rule to drop all traffic from one vlan address to a list of vlan addresses

You can use interface list ... which will reduce number of rules. I'm not sure I understand which traffic you want to block though ... if you want to block traffic originating from vlan101 targeting other VLANs and router itself, then you need 5 rules without using either interface list or address ...

Well, dstnat is fine, anything going to 101.x.x.1 will be redirected to 10.101.0.101. But I'm not sure about the rest. Based on the masquerade rule, your WAN interface is "bridge", but there's no address on that. Is perhaps sfp-sfpplus12 part of this bridge? But if it is, and you have 101...

S+RJ10 should work in the SFP28 cages.
Sorry guys, I mispoke too soon, I thought those ports were QSFP+(40G) but they are SFP28(25G)
So the same SFP+(10G) port will fit into SFP28925G) ports as well? and if that is Yes

Without you telling us exactly in what way ISP device us still acting as router I'm guessing you set up CCR in parallel to the rest of devices. Most networked devices nowdays (wired, wireless, ...) use DHCP protocol to discover network settings (own IP address, gateway, DNS servers) ... and most routers, given out by ISPs, have DHCP server configured (because most users don't know much about networking).
