Leave all TX & RX data rates selected because the OS will try to connect at the maximum data rate possible. You probably have low signal or interferences. Work on that, try changing the channel or increase power.
Good luck!
On tower one, change the wlan that connects to tower two to ap bridge or bridge and on tower two use station wds.
It would also help if you could post your IP routing configuration on those towers.
Is it possible to use more than one card in same RB on same channel, joined into one virtual AP? No it will not work. Use an Omni. This should be clarified - it won't work with MikroTik, but it will certainly work with other products in the market using synchronization. We have sites with 3 sectors...
I don't know if I understand it completely but I see a very simple solution... just unplug the satellite wire and install another wireless card that connects as a bridge or client to tower two. replace the satellite as the gateway with the adsl and you're done, you don't need to change anything in y...
does any of your clients have any ZIO access points in your network? they've given me a lot of trouble... I don't know what happens to them but after a while they start to take any IP they find in the network and the only solution is to give them to a recycling company
so... 1 W it's too much in my opinion for that distance. 24 db grids should be more than enough for that link. BUT! if your 2.4 ghz spectrum is crowded, stop bothering, immediately switch to 5 ghz.
You must configure the routerboards this way: On the mountain rb you must set the wlan ip addresses like this: -wlan hq 172.16.28.100/23 -wlan of1 172.16.16.100/22 -wlan of2 172.16.35.100/24 The HQ rb must have the wlan ip 172.16.28.99/23 and ip route add 172.16.16.0/22 via 172.16.28.100 ip route ad...
alvarion has this feature. and it's very precise. I believe it tests the latency with different ack settings, chooses the best one and evaluates the distance. just a guess.
Water in the pigtails, cards down because of lightning or antennas changed their position because of the wind. After looking at the antennas, change the pigtails. If nothing changes... it's the cards.
Connect to your mikrotik running AP using WinBox, click on wireless, double click on wlan1, go to WDS and at WDS mode select whatever works (dynamic i presume). Good luck!
Look carefully to the settings, there must be the same at both ends (both APs). The tutorial works 100%. In your case you've probably forgot to enable dynamic wds or nstream at one end. Check again! Good luck!
What could be the problem in a transparent p2p wds link that at a bandwidth test, TCP, both ways shows 5 Mbps Tx / 212 kbps Rx? There's no noise. The signal strenght varies from -76 to -82.
1.take some time and read the manual: http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2. ... reless.php
2.use winbox for starters, it makes your effort a lot easier.
3. stay in touch and ask questions that can be answered with 1-2-3 lines, not "I bought a RB333, teach me what to do with it"
"Is there a way that this type of point to point setup will work without configuring a bridge on the RB's?"
Ap bridge -> Station or
Bridge -> Station WDS.
If you don't create a bridge the link will NOT be transparent so you will need to configure your routes.
--assuming your gateway behind A is 10.1.1.1/24-- on all three of them you have to create a bridge A: bridge 1 must contain: eth1, ip 10.1.1.2/24 wlan1, ip 10.1.13.2/24, mode station WDS ip route 0.0.0.0/0 via 10.1.1.1 B: bridge 2: eth1, ip 10.1.15.2/24 wlan1, ip 10.1.1.3/24, mode bridge (to A) wlan...
1.you don't need to be on superchannel. 2."Also the wds-address under Interface Wireless WDS are all zeros" I don't understand. take a screenshot 3.In a bridge, a wireless interface will not be in "forwarding" mode until it is connected to another one (in your case the other, the...
I'm trying to limit the number of connections of a client (say 10.100.10.16) on a port (say 411) at 12 connections. I've enabled connection tracking and I've tryed lots of rules and all they give me is a headache. HELP!!! give me the exact line please
try other channels. try switching Band to 5ghz-turbo (if it's supported) or 5GHz-10MHz or 5GHz-5MHz, but I still think your problem is that you have more power than you need.
I have Mikrotik v3.2 on a RB333 with 3 Senao NMP- 8602 + S: High Power (25dbm) Mini-PCI Adapter in Ap bridge mode and 3 18 dBi panels shooting at aprox. 32 clients in a city. This is my configuration: 0 R name="chirnogi1" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:19:5B:6E:04:C4 arp=enabled disable-running-c...
I want to limit my client`s number of connections and I understand I can do that in Queues. My problem is that I have big latency whenever a client uses a p2p software like DC++. I tryed to put queues but I can seem to succeed. Can anyone help me with the line I need to enter? I've tryed "queue...
Does anyone have experience with AP running MikrotikOS? I need a wireless card that can function well with 20-35 clients in AP bridge mode. I`m tired of trying Alfa Networks, tp-link, trendnet and other pci brands based on atheros. Does anyone have a palpable solution?
Router - 10.10.135.1/26 Mikrotik532 - eth ip 10.10.135.254/26;wlan1 private ip, doesn`t matter as long as they`re bridged, default route 10.10.135.1 Mikrotik112 - wlan ip 10.10.135.253/26;eth1 private ip, bridged, default route 10.10.135.1 client`s computer ip 10.10.135.x, gateway 10.10.135.1 you do...
Put the IP 10.10.135.4/26 on the client`s computer. Put 10.10.135.254/26 on the bridge interface in the mikrotik 532 and set up 10.10.135.1/26 as the default route. good luck !
I had the same problem when i tried to bridge them in winbox. Try entering the set of commands thru telnet console and watch in winbox if it gets disabled.
If you bridge the AP and ethernet, as long as the wireless card is in AP MODE, its fine. Another thing to do would be to turn off connection tracking. Then I would connect these to a more powerful MT and route at the bottom on the tower.. ! Turn off connection tracking... what does this button do ?...
How can I avoid routing on a mikrotik so that I can build a transparent AP ? If i have a ethernet card and a wireless card and i put them in bridge... will they forward traffic transparently ? I would like something like this : Server 10.3.1.1 -> eth mikrotik 192.168.1.x -> wireless mikrotik 192.168...
I`m trying to build a transparent Access Point. I have 1 ethernet card and 2 wireless cards. I understand that in a bridge can only be 2 devices and a device can not be in 2 bridges. I would like to avoid the routing part because it means i have to change the ip addresses of half of my clients in th...
