Re: Hardware offloading

Any plan from @mikrotik if and when to support VXLAN HW-Offloading. Without it a l3 Fabric based on 100G+VXLAN+OSPF just doesn't too much sense? Does anybody have data on how fast VXLAN through the CPU can go?

Thx,
Mischa

Re: MLAG Issue - MLAG functionality flaps LACP system-id of secondary when primary reboots

Ive had these switches for over a year now.. I spent time with support explaining how it should work and they were receptive.. a year later.. nothing.. I have paper weights.. The latest version of code drops 75% of traffic in MCLAG... Ridiculous product. Something every other vendor has had figured...

Consequence of new wireguard interface per peer

Hi, considering a setup where you have a central wireguard concentrator (eg. a ccr2116_12g_4s) where all wireguard road-warriors connect to ( offices spread around the country with no fixed ips). Let's say you have up to 500 branch offices you would like to connect: When configuring the central devi...

Re: DHCP Relay and Required Firewall Rule [SOLVED]

The DHCP server uses a raw socket so it receives everything, unaffected by the firewall. So you don't require any input rule. You can add an input rule for port 67 and it will match the traffic (counters increment) but it does not matter if you have accept or drop, the DHCP server (and the relay) w...

Re: Reasons to hold on to the mikrotik specific scripting language

And, I think the container so this need today – use what ever language. Most modern languages have a library for both REST and API & unless you explain how you'd doing normal CLI config with micropython or Lua, I'm skeptical. The problem with containers is that they are not supported on all arc...

Wait September and you will have a surprise with RouterOS v7.11.9...
This is hopefully a "self-fulfilling prophecy" or do you have inside details on what could be possible?

Re: Bridge to Wireguard interface [SOLVED]

In short, WireGuard does not work with Bridge-LAN. That's it?
Exactly. You can't bridge a layer2 network directly into wireguard. Use a encapsulation Mechanism like VXLAN or EoIP and then route the traffic over the wireguard interfaces.

Reasons to hold on to the mikrotik specific scripting language

Hi, after using the mikrotik scripting language I wonder why Mikrotik holds on to this archaic and painful language. It is widely known that there are small and useful alternatives like LUA or Micropython. I saw that LUA was supported in some Betas and then again dropped in some 4.X release. Is ther...

Adding a new interface/trunk port to 500+ vlans

Hi, let's assume one has a ton of vlans per switch and we want to add a new port to as trunk port. We usually don't put the untagged ports into /interface bridge vlan as they are added automagically by the pvid set on the access port. Our config looks like this: /interface bridge vlan add bridge=bri...
