Re: WAN Interface configured on VLAN on ethernet port connected to LAN

So are you saying you have two routers in one location?? What is the purpose of the second router at all?? Which router gets which ISP? 2 Routers, Yes. Context : 2 Primary Companies, several smaller companies (same group) on 2 sides of a street, ~10 Buildings, ~16 Switches, ~18 Aps, redundant Fiber...

Re: WAN Interface configured on VLAN on ethernet port connected to LAN

2025-02-13 - WhatTheFudgeBro.JPG Nasty, isn't it? So ... Tik A - Everything works, VLANS, Supernet, Failover, etc ... I'm not worried (moreso than usual) Tik B - Everything works, VLANS, Supernet, Failover, etc ... but I'm concerned there may be an unknown unknown at play. ISP 2 should have been in...

Re: WAN Interface configured on VLAN on ethernet port connected to LAN

Draw a diagram … I knew you were going to say that. Diagram coming up. As long as the WAN is on a separate VLAN from the rest of the LAN (not only on the router, but also on the VLAN aware switch that the port is connected to), there is no problems with what you described. It's common for router-on...

Were a dummy (like the author of this post) to create a VLAN for the WAN interface on the same hardware port as the LAN interfa...

Re: WireGuard and placing a client on the LAN segment of my network

Had to bump this old thread. Thanks to everyone who contributed time and expertise, your detailed and precise posts opened my eyes to a lot of information I didn’t even have before (the unknown unknowns if you will) and I assimilated all the new information you offered into work I have done subseque...

WireGuard and placing a client on the LAN segment of my network

Hi to all, I am aware this is a silly idea, but apparently it _is_ doable, I just don't know RouterOS well enough particularly wrt routing to get the job done right. So my scenario: Link between main home LAN A and holiday home LAN B in two different cities LAN A (192.168.22.0/24) connected to LAN B...
