Re: RP Candidate Priority not working

Bumpidy bump bump

Persisting on the forum for support on this as I've had no reply from Mikrotik support.

It would be great if some legend(s) could independently confirm my bug finding to bolster impetus for this issue.

Re: Port Forwarding not working

In your destination NAT statement below add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat dst-address=192.168.88.103 dst-port=80 \ in-interface=ether1WAN protocol=tcp to-addresses=192.168.88.103 to-ports=80 Your dst-address and your to-address are the same. The dst-address should be your router WAN port address and t...

RP Candidate Priority not working

Hello, I am having a problem with RP-Candidate selection. The selection of an RP from amongst several RP candidates does not follow a predictable criterion. I would have thought that the RP-Candidate PRIORITY field (lowest value being the highest priority) would be the primary selection method, but ...

Firewall FIlter DROP rule [SOLVED]

Hi, Love using Mikrotik defaults however I'm not a fan of this default DROP rule (below) - I am thinking of separating the rule out such that I can have an explicit DROP at the end to provide more clarity. add action=drop chain=forward comment="defconf: drop all from WAN not DSTNATed" conn...

Re: Feature requests

When creating a GRE tunnel using IPsecret - the dynamically created IPsec peer uses exchange mode MAIN. It would be great if there was a way for the dynamic peer to use IKEv2 (without having to manually create the peer and identity under IPsec)

GRE and IKEv2

Hi all, Creating a GRE interface with an IPsecret allows for the easy establishment of secure tunnels - in my case between several like type mikrotik routers. When these tunnels are established, the Phase1 and Phase2 ISAKMP/IPsec policies are applied following the default settings under ip/ipsec/pro...

Re: NAT - Source and Destination NAT on same router [SOLVED]

And the return traffic to this outbound connection would be seen as part of the outbound connection, not a new inbound connection. I performed a test on this by modifying the source NAT rule so it was limited to only using TCP port 50100 for masquerade. I also enabled logging on the destination NAT...

NAT - Source and Destination NAT on same router [SOLVED]

I have a situation where I require both source and destination NAT on the same router. The destination NAT rule redirects inbound requests on TCP port 50010 to TCP port 1880 on a host on the LAN side of the Mirktotik. The source NAT rule is the default rule allowing LAN hosts to access the Internet ...

Re: PIM in OS7

For closure, I can confirm that the issues I outlined in the OP have both been resolved in release 7.12rc2
In addition, the BSR candidate / Rendezvous candidate election process now works correctly.

Now waiting for this to be packaged as a formal release . . .

Re: PIM multicast forwarding stops after brief interface outage

Hello, In searching for an issue that I’ve been encountering with PIM in OS 6; I came across the trailing post from 2017 which details issues very similar to what I’m still seeing now, 6 years later. I am wondering if the OP ever found a solution. I initially came across the issue working with GRE t...

Detect link down and perform action

Hello, I'm looking for a solution to forcibly expire/remove a PIM Neighbor entry (Routing/PIM/neighbors) when an interface link is taken down. One way I can remove the PIM Neighbor entry is by disabling the respective PIM Interface (routing/PIM/Interfaces) and then re-enabling it. But I don't know h...

PIM in OS7

Hi, I have raised the issues I experienced below with Mikrotik support but thought I'd put it here too for any comment . . . We are performing some testing on the mikrotik os7 with a view to implementing this on our customer sites going forward. We currently use os6. We have tested using combination...

Re: Support for BSR and RP candidate in routerOS 7

Hi, After reading your post I discovered that I was indeed able to add both the BSR and RP candidates successfully via the CLI. This lead me to discover that the GUI interface (both in winbox and webGUI) requires that the address be entered in the format <IP Address>%<interfacename> In my case I had...

Support for BSR and RP candidate in routerOS 7

Hello,
Can anyone confirm that routerOS 7 supports BSR and RP candidates? Whenever I try to add either of these to PIMSM I get the following error - Couldn't add New PIM Candidate - address interface must be specified (6)

Have tried on OS 7.10.2 and 7.11beta7
Thanks

Re: PIM MFC table

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, each router is connected to the same broadcast network via the ether1 port.
No, I have not created any PIM filters.
