Re: v7.15beta [testing] is released!

ehm.. you mean ECMP, it can be but only if the two routes have the same cost (to reach both devices advertising the default). And yes, you should see at least one of them in the routing table (as long as you do not have another better default from another source, or you are filtering it). Yes, ECMP...

Re: v7.15beta [testing] is released!

Mikrotik Audience, wifi, 2.4Ghz reconnects occurring on a regular basis. Strong signal, logs just show reconnecting.

I’ll stick with this for a bit longer for diagnostics.

Currently have an open ticket with support file: SUP-149531

Re: v7.15beta [testing] is released!

Issue with the Mikrotik Audience, QCA9984 stuck on "selecting channel' after second radar detection. This hasn't happened with previous beta firmware. When you disable and re-enable the interface, the status stays as 'disabled'. My understanding is that the router can't use a DFS channel for 3...

Re: ARP response on behalf of wireless device, proxy-arp.

Was it Cambium? It was, however if you do a search of google, you will find a whole host of information on the subject. I've kind of given up on the idea, as Mikrotik doesn't support ND Proxy as far as I can tell. I feel like Mikrotik is a jack of all trade, but master of none. I'm not saying it is...

ARP response on behalf of wireless device, proxy-arp.

Good afternoon, I'm looking at ways to save device battery life on wifi. Another manufacturer advertises proxy-arp as one way to do this, the wifi access point will respond to the arp request on behalf of a device, so it doesn't have to wake up. Can this be done on the Mikrotik Audience? I know it h...

Re: Point to point link, Audience, wifi (wifiwave2)

Thanks for taking the time to reply @Amm0. MPLS was the easy option, as it allowed me to make use of the layer2 MTU, leaving the MTU for clients at 1500. Part of me just wants someone to say, client-bridge takes care of all of this, you're wasting your time. However, I must say the network has been ...

Re: VOIP IPv6 UDP packets are lost form WAN to LAN

Thank you for the extra information. I think the issue could now be, that you've made allot of changes in order to fix this, which may now backfire. I'm happy to help further, however you will need to share your config, as we're shooting in the dark here. It will also reveal anything you're not awar...

Point to point link, Audience, wifi (wifiwave2)

Good morning, I really hope you can help me. We have two Mikrotik Audiences, we use wifi2 on both devices as a dedicated link between them. Previously we had Audience1 as AP and Audience2 as station-bridge. However, this has now been changed to MPLS with VPLS, with Audience2 now as a station. This w...

Re: VOIP IPv6 UDP packets are lost form WAN to LAN

To me, it looks like the packets are being dropped at the bridge. Do you have any firewall rules configured on the bridge itself (separate config from the firewall)? Also, make sure the bridge settings have use-ip-firewall, use-ip-firewall-for-pppoe and use-ip-firewall-for-vlan are all set to no. Th...

*) defconf - use "fq_codel" queue as default interface queue for wired ports on LTE devices;

What difference does this make in practice? My assumption would be that it only has an impact when the ethernet port is maxed out, but the likelihood is that the LTE will be maxed out first.

Side note: Trying to understand it before going ahead with the firmware upgrade.

Re: v7.12rc is released!

Since version 7.9 few processes were not working properly and could have caused an extra load on single CPU core, compared to older versions. That was caused due to the fact that parallel processes were not started as separate tasks. For example, this did affect SSL processes, certificate managemen...

Re: v7.12rc is released!

Noted after installation (do no know how long it exists as I just changed IPv6 settings) that when you have IPv6 enabled but IPv6 routing disabled, the IPv6 forward chain gets hit with multicast packets from the local network, as if it wants to forward them. /ipv6 settings set forward=no /ipv6 fire...

Re: Using WifiWave2 to bridge two Audience wirelessly, thoughts? == 4-address mode

I'm in the process of setting this up... One question I have, should the neighbour-groups be shared between both Audiences? What do I need to do to make this happen, CAPSMAN, neighbour discovery? I'm finding that devices are becoming confused currently, causing noticeable disconnects when roaming. T...

Re: v7.12beta [testing] is released!

The station-bridge mode works together with the AP mode, there is no need for a new type of AP mode. The WifiWave2 station-bridge is only compatible with WifiWave2 APs. Audience configuration won't be automatically converted in this case. Is this the preferred setup for Capsman? Or do we still conn...

Mikrotik Audience, WAN2 stops working randomly, could be days or weeks.
Disabling and re-enabling resolves the issues until the next occurrence.

Re: Forwarding Port 80 leads to the login page, not website [SOLVED]

Brand new to using RouterOS, so please be gentle. I'm hosting a website on 192.168.88.209:80, and I have set up records on Cloudflare that point to it. However every time I try to go to it, it comes up with the Mikrotik login page. This happens on every device, local or not. Even my friends say the...

Wifiwave2 - No fast path support

Is it just me asking for this?

It's been confirmed it isn't currently supported, but they may add it in the future.
This includes on a bridge, traffic via wifi does not go through the bridge fast path.

Also with the Mikrotik audience, why does it touch the CPU at all?

Re: 7.11beta4 fast path/ track does not work

Fastpath doesn't work with Wifiwave2 on bridges.
This has always been the case, it was my mistake.

I did however think fast track worked with the IPv4 firewall, however it isn't.

So to conclude, wifiwave2 does not work in any form with fast path and fast track.
At least on my setup. .
