Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

Is there anyone else who uses openvpn bridging and can confirm this issue ? Unfortunately the support team cannot reproduce the issue, and I am afraid this will end up broken forever and i will get stuck with an old version of RouterOS :(

Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

Balazs, thanks for the hint. I was not aware that they solved it already so we don't need an IP adress. For bridging it's indeed not needed.
Let's hope they fix this soon. Until now I got no answer from the Mikrotik support team.

Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

Hello.
I can confirm, on 7.12 it is also working.
So it was broken most probably with the changes from 7.14
I will add this info to the ticket at mikrotik support.

Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

I have managed to downgrade to 7.9.2 and now Openvpn bridge works without any other change.
So in newer versions something is broken.
I have opened a ticket at Mikrotik support, maybe somebody from there can figure out what is broken in the newer releases.

Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

I have tried to downgrade the Mikortik OS, but gives some missing package errors, even if the packages are uploaded to "Files".
But I would really like to solve the issue instead of downgrading.

Re: openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

Something seems to be on the bridging side, if I open torch and leave it for a while on the openvpn interface, I see some traffic from hosts on the client side. So the openvpn client succesfully connects and communicates, however for some reason the packets do not reach the hosts on the LAN, that ar...

openvpn bridging broken in latest releases

I have recently updated the Router OS on my microtik router. I have used openvpn bridge , Mikrotik being the server and I have used another openwrt based router for site-to-site bridging. I have updated the Router OS from version 7.xxx to the latest version (7.14.2). Here I have observed that I cann...

Re: Choice of OpenVPN mode - TAP or TUN

It depends what you would like to achieve. TAP: I have always used TAP between 2 routers for site-to-site VPN. It has some advantages and disadvantages over TUN Advantage: - TAP works at level 2, you bridge together the tapxx network interface with the rest of the LAN (wifi, ethernet , etc) , this w...

Re: S+RJ10 no link

Ok, I know they overheat, but it did not work out of the box. There is only one such device plugged in the first SFP+ port of the CCR2004, I've tried with auto link negociation, with the expectation that it will negociate the 1000mps link speed, but it did not, as it shows No Link. This is when I tr...

Re: DDNS (Freedns) upgrade script not working as expected. [SOLVED]

Freedns has 2 versions , an old one and v2, which is shorter and looks different. It doesn't really matter which one do you use.

Re: DDNS (Freedns) upgrade script not working as expected. [SOLVED]

The URL is fine, as when I run the script via scheduler, it works. Also running it manually it works. The only case when it doesn't is when it's triggered on "on up" by the pppoe profile. Also in this case, the first log entry is written, only that it looks like it never finishes, at least...

Re: New Back to home feature testing [SOLVED]

Again... was that the first 7.11 version on your device ?
If so, it will not work.

First move back to one of the 7.11 rc version, or move to 7.12 beta.
It will appear then in IP / Cloud.

No, I've used previous 7.xx versions as well. I just updated today to 7.11

S+RJ10 no link

I have bought the S+RJ10 and pluggin in a ccr2004-16g-2s+pc router. The card is recognized, but when I connect the ethernet cable of the ISP's router, it shows no link, no leds light up. Also, I've tried to set the speed to 1Gbps or even 100Mbps, with no change. The ISPs router is in bridge mode and...

DDNS (Freedns) upgrade script not working as expected. [SOLVED]

Hello, I've tried to setup and automated DDNS update script when the PPPOE connection is up. I've read all the forums, and the old scripts (that mostly use tool fetch do not work any more due to permission issues. Basically, to update the IP address at freedns, one must fetch the following URL: http...
