Re: 7.14 and SMB on RB5009

In the meantime I circumvented the issue and installed the rose-storage package, disabled smb and enabled nfs file share. That doesn't crash the mikrotik devices and is also usable as a remote backup for proxmox. But thanks anyway for pointing out, I will give it a try with the new version, btw: rel...

Re: 7.14 and SMB on RB5009

Hi, I think I have the exact same issue here, both on my RB5009 and on the hap-ax3. I'm using 7.16.2 firmware on all my devices, on the RB5009 I have an usb-stick connected to usb port and I share that one via smb (with domain set, comment set, user with password and no encryption). I can connect to...

Re: Allow remote-logging input on ROS [SOLVED]

Hi @Jotne and @rplant, thanks for your feedback, That Splunk setup really looks nice, but to be honest I would be a bit hesitant to send my logfiles over to some external server, I'd rather keep them indoors, but nevertheless I'm going to check if something similar is possible to setup here at home....

Re: Allow remote-logging input on ROS [SOLVED]

oh, if that is possible that would be great, so it would be something like this: dude: enable the syslog-server on port 514 dude: have logs send to ros where it's running on (in my case rb5009 router with external flash-drive attached) ros: have logs from dude stored on usb-disk and viewable via win...

Re: Allow remote-logging input on ROS [SOLVED]

Yes, something like that might be an option, but that would still not bring all logging from my different ros devices into the one log of my main router.
But thanks for the pointer, I will think a bit further on how to configure it to my liking.

Re: Allow remote-logging input on ROS [SOLVED]

Yes, indeed I think I need something like a syslog server. I've been trying this with the Dude, and then I can send the logs of all my routers/access-points to the Dude, but I don't like so much the way these logs can be viewed on the Dude. I would rather have my main router function as the syslog s...

Allow remote-logging input on ROS [SOLVED]

Hi all, i'm trying to setup my main router to show the total logging of all my ros devices (mainly access points). On all my access-points i've configured the logging as remote, pointing to the ip-address of my main router. But i'm missing the part on how to allow this remote logging as input on my ...

Re: RB5009, RouterOS 7.9.1, USB slot keeps changing

I just bought another usb drive (Kingston) and this one doesn't switch anymore between usb1/usb2, so in my case it seems to be related to my previos usb-disk from Sandisk.

Re: Dude trying to login via winbox every hour

My settings are equal to your screenshot (just the default settings of 1m and 1d), so this should not cause the login every hour I would guess.

Re: RB5009 USB problem

Can you indicate what kind of usb-disk you're using ? I'll just buy another stick, these are cheap, so not Sandisk anymore but what brand is ok then ? For example would this one work ? https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1843878/kingston-datatraveler-max-usb-type-a-256gb-rood.html Or this one (even chea...

Re: RB5009, RouterOS 7.9.1, USB slot keeps changing

Can you indicate which usb drive you're using?
Maybe the issue is related to the SanDisk ultrafit drive that I'm using.
I've installed 7.13 ros and firmware on all my devices and still see the issue.

Re: Provision AP's in sequence

Although it's not my preferred solution, I now have given all AP's a fixed configuration for both the 2GHz and 5GHz bands.
It seems to work ok, but it's rather cumbersome to do, I would wish this could be done easier.....

Re: Dude trying to login via winbox every hour

Well, the change I did above didn't help, also when I assign the three ip-adresses in dude to my router device I still get the hourly failing log-in message on my router from .1.1 and .2.1 Any other idea's where to look in dude settings so it's not going to try and login to winbox on (or via ?) thes...

Re: Dude trying to login via winbox every hour

Ah, your screenshot pointed me in another direction (not really sure yet if this is the correct direction ;)). I've now added the other two ip-adresses to my router device (so it now has 3 ip-adresses associated with 1 device), and I deleted the other two 'auto-discovered' devices. Going to see if n...

Re: Provision AP's in sequence

You can either set channels manually (which would require a provision rule per radio) or you can use a scheduled script that turns off and on the radio (which will cause a scan for best channel). The latter is used by someone here on the forum (you would have to search for him/here). I'm not very m...

Provision AP's in sequence

Hi all, I'm running my local network with one RB5009 Router and 4 x hap ax3 access-point for wifi, managed via capsman on the router. What I notice is that by default all the four AP's are provisioned at the same time, and then they all choose the same frequency (for both 2GHz and 5GHz) and this is ...

Dude trying to login via winbox every hour

Hi, I recently enabled dude on my RB5009 router (7.13 ros) to monitor my network (with several hap ax3 ap's and some switches). My router has 3 networks 10.0.0.0/24, 10.0.1.0/24 and 10.0.2.0/24, and is reachable on address .1 in each of these networks, but I only allow access to winbox from network ...

Re: RB5009 USB problem

reply-ing to an old post, but did you in the meantime found a proper fix for this issue ? I'm suffering from the same :( I found another thread on this forum about the same: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?p=1006351&hilit=usb+drive#p1006351 but that also doesn't seem to have a proper so...

Re: RB5009, RouterOS 7.9.1, USB slot keeps changing

I'm suffering from the same problem, using a Sandisk ultrafit USB3 drive on my RB5009 router, is there perhaps a real fix for this in the meantime ? I'm very reluctant to put an 'auto-reboot' script on my router, so now I'm faced with half of the reboots of my router resulting in a non-working syste...
