Hard time Sizing up hardware

I am having a hard time finding the right components to build a Mikrotik box. I don't know what size CPU I will need and how much ram. I have been looking at the supermicro motherboards, but don't know which one to get? Here is what I need: 8 Copper Ethernet Gigibit ports for Canopy and Orthogon bac...

As far as the drive is concerned I have read where a lot of people are using the SATA CF Drives? What are the advantages/disadvantages of this compared to just an SATA internall?

Also when you say V3, I am assuming you mean V3 minimum?
