Re: Groove A-2Hn sufficient for my needs?

Are you looking to get signal into the buildings? If so, just ensure that there is no foil backed plasterboard, foil insulation or K-Glass.
Yeah, thats the idea.
Both houses are quite old, so I guess it is safe to believe that there is no foil inside the walls.

Thanks

Re: Groove A-2Hn sufficient for my needs?

I was thinking about 8dB Omni setup.
Like this bundle: http://linitx.com/product/13513

Perhaps there is a better antenna alternative?

Groove A-2Hn sufficient for my needs?

Hello!

I wonder if a Groove A-2Hn would be sufficient for me?
Please see included graphics.

I want to cover both houses (built out of wood) and there are no obstacles to interfere with signal.

Re: Wiki page firewall rules still relevant?

One question. I redid my firewall rules and used http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Firewall/Filter#Basic_examples. When pasting (from last section) into terminal add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-options=0:0 action=accept \ comment="echo reply" add chain=icmp protocol=icmp icmp-optio...

Wiki page firewall rules still relevant?

Hi!

I'm no firewall guru and I'm trying to set up a basic home router.

Are these rules still relevant for RouterOS 5.19?

Re: RB493G features and first impressions

I had been using RB493AH boards at all of my wPOPs. I think I'll be switching to this new board. The temperature and voltage monitoring alone make it worthwhile.

What's a wPOP?

Winbox access multiple ips

Can i add more than one ip address in the IP Service List (/IP Services)?
I would like to give Winbox access to 192.168.0.0/24 and the public ip of the company where i work.

Or do i have to set winbox access to 0.0.0.0/0 and then set the access rules in firewall?

Re: Unable to get IP adresses from WLAN

Thanks for your reply Sergejs! I didn't have any problems getting IP addresses on my regular ethernet, it was just the wlan. I found out what the problem was. When i looked the webadmin page I observed at the Interfaces page there was a check-box at the bridged column. It wasn't checked so i clicked...

Unable to get IP adresses from WLAN

Hi! I just added a R52N card to my RB 333 board and configured it. When i connect with my laptop i don't seem to get a IP address. Strange is that i don't seem to have any problems connecting to the AP with my WPA2 key. This is my setup (winbox screenshot): http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/6393/ro...

Can't access FTP, SSH on router

Hello, I simply can't access FTP or SSH on my RB333. The services are running and ok. I found a post under Firewall > Address List : black list | [my internal ip] If i remove this Address List post, it just pops back again. Any ideas how to fix this? Everything worked fine for a week ago. Edit: I ju...
