Passing Parameters

I would like to setup a generic script to test to see if an IP address is up by running a ping test 5 times. Got that part from the examples. However, I would like to run the script with a parameter. The parameter would be the IP address I wanted to test. This would greatly cut down the number of sc...

We do not see any packet loss, but we do see derogation in speed. We have this problem in both RF noisy areas and RF quite areas. We have one location that has about 20 clients all have under a -62 dBm and never had the drop out issue with the Routerboard and Prism PCIMIA card. I upgraded this area ...

TX/RX discrepancies

We have a similar issue. One of my links is a 802.11b link with and MT AP on one end and an MT client on the other. Both have mini-PCI Prizm 802.11b cards in them. The AP has an omni antenna and the client has a 14 dbi roo. The are about 2.5 miles apart, but about 200 feet up on towers. The client r...

CB3 drop outs

No, I have not found a fix, but I have found a few work arounds. We use WisperMapper to watch our network. I set the polling interval to 10 secs for all CB3s. Most CB3 now stay associated all the tim. I also upgraded to 2.8.16 and that helped. The problem got worse on my Routerboards with the prizm ...

Keeping traffic going to stop drops

I have posted before about this problem, but have not received a solution, just that I need to upgrade the MT software. I am using MT with Prism 200mw cards and 13dbi omni antennas for my APs. I am using 2511 CB3 deluxe for the CPE equipment. None of my customers complain about being disconnected or...

All of our mail servers require authentication, but we can send email from the MT routers without authentication if we send the email from an email address with the same domain as the email address it is going to. I do not know if this is a setting on our mail server, but it works. I have an alias t...

Netwatch Error

I had a netwatch setup to run a script to email me when a link went down. I removed the script because we changed the network layout. I forgot about the Netwatch. I then got errors in the log file saying the script does not exist. So I removed the Netwatch for that IP and I still get the log file er...

We have almost the same problem with the disconnects. I have tested all kinds of setups and am still having the problem. Our clients disconnect and then connect right back up. I can understand it on some of our clients that are going through trees, but most of our clients have -65 signal strength or...

I have not setup an AP cluster that way, but I do see some problems in the setup. I would not make them all the same SIDD. Even with sectors you will have some bleed over on the edges of each sector so some of your clients will not know witch one to associate to, unless you are using client equipmen...

2.8.5 Upgrade to 2.8.12

I was reviewing our network notes and when the client said they started having the problem. It looks like it was working great under 2.8.5 and then we upgraded our NOC to 2.8.12 and it started killing the connection.

Any ideas from the MT people?

IPSec Tunnel Dropping Connection

I have a client with an IPSec tunnel that keeps loosing the tunnel when it ties to re-key the security association. Every time without fail it looses the connection and then it comes back up a few minutes later. We know it is a setup in the MT because the problem goes away if we connect directly to ...

Make sure you do not have too many 0 in his simple queue. We had a few clients that where pulling too much bandwidth and it turned out to be too many 0.

Thanks that works, however I can not get to any other 66.128.120.0/27 devices on my network except the ones that are assigned to the NOC router. This is not a big deal, I can at least surf, but I was wondering why? I have done some testing and reading with no results.

Thanks again.

Multiple Masquerading rules?

Our Public interface has 15 of our /27 sub net address on it. As per the documentation it said I should set the preferred source in the static default route. S 0.0.0.0/0 r 66.128.120.1 1 Backbone This does not show it, but the preferred source is 66.128.120.2 I have the following masquerade rules se...

Setup 45 customers masqueraded behind 1 Public IP address A few customers with static nats to other public IP addresses A 3mb down 1 mb up connection runs at about 50% capacity spikes to 100%. Problem If I do 100 pings from our NOC router to a public site I will get about 16% lost packets. This is t...
