petrik,

Everything you say sounds great, but are your comments based on something you ever tested or just suppositions?

Re: Maximum possible bandwidth for wireless PtP link

jorj,

If you read the subject, I did mean wireless. Cost is not an issue here, but I am really looking for 100 Mbps or higher.

From the forums, it looks to me that Nstream dual can provide the highest throughput, but how high for that distance and with what hardware?

Maximum possible bandwidth for wireless PtP link

I need to set up a link between two buildings located 50 meters apart from each other. There is LOS between the two ends.

What hardware would you suggest to achieve the maximum bandwidth and what would that bandwidth be?

jo2jo, Spammers use port 25 to send emails, so I actually want to set our outlook clients to use a different port to send emails, and have the MT box block port 25 and change the port number in email packets back to 25 so that they can be routed normally. Therefore, I am looking to change the port n...

jo2jo, I saw your post here: http://forum.mikrotik.com//viewtopic.php?t=9397&highlight=smtp+redirect, but this is not exactly what I want, as the IP address should remain unchanged. As for your questions, yes, I am using NAT masquerading. Regarding your edit, I understand what you are saying, bu...

Port redirect

Sorry if this has been asked before, but at least I could not find in the forums. I just want my MT box to identify packets going to port S and replace the port number, such that w.x.y.z:S --> w.x.y.z:T, where w.x.y.z can be ANY IP address. I tried to do it with the rule below, but it did not work b...

I put a non-zero IP address in the field "To Addresses" and this time it worked, but what I really need is to change the port in the IP packet leaving the IP address unchanged.

I will appreciate your help.

I set up the two MT routers as suggested, but now it turns out that I can ping stations out of the VLAN!

For instance, I can ping a station on vlan 2 at location B from a station on vlan 1 at location A.

What am I doing wrong?

Yes, it could be a firewall problem. Check the folders' user permissions as well.

From time to time, when I connect to an MT router via WinBox, some plugins are downloaded before the main WinBox window is displayed. And this happens without having upgraded the router or anything. Why is that?

Command prompt disappeared

I have version 2.9.7 installed on a RB-532 and when I open a terminal window either from WinBox or via SSH, I get the ASCII-drawn MikroTik banner, but not the command prompt.

I generated the supout file, but I do not know how to attach it here.

Is there a way of setting it up such that ONLY passwords are case-sensitive? :?:

You probably know this by now, the radio card sockets are different because the 532 takes mini-PCI cards while the 230 uses PCMCIA cards.

I don't know about performance their performance though.
