Re: Mikrotik sending out rogue DHCP requests [SOLVED]

I notice that Mikrotik were working on some DHCP client updates in 6.43 and DHCP server updates in 6.43.8. I wonder is anything related (was a bug introduced) ?. There is no mention of DHCP fixes in the 6.43.X Changelogs (https://mikrotik.com/download/changelogs/).

Re: Tunnel over TCP - possible ?

Its audio (SIP/RTP) that drops even though the link is "good" (good TX/RX good signal - maybe not perfect CCQ though). I've seen this before - I think interference on the unlicensed frequencies causes dropped/lost packets. This is no problem for any TCP traffic (HTTP/email/etc) but I think...

Tunnel over TCP - possible ?

Hi all, I'll like to make a TCP based tunnel to carry traffic (including UDP) through - is this possible? I think that normally PPTP is UDP based? Is EoIP also UDP based? The reason I'm looking for this is that I don't want UDP traffic to get lost over a wireless connection due to interference - if ...

Hi all, We are regularly seeing our RB800 hitting 100% CPU load at peak times and I'd like to see what the best choice would be to fix this. CPU is mainly being used by "firewall" and to a lesser extent "Queuing" (as shown by the Tools -> Profile tool). We don't do any Queuing an...

Yes. It will not change traffic throughput significantly, but for example when other brandname router does not have enough resources, encrpytion/compression could decrease total throughput. Hi everyone, We are mostly using PPPoE to give users public IP addresses and this works very well. Re: "BAD" rule in NAT table with Hotspot

To follow-up: - I upgraded routeros from 3.11 to 3.13 but the same problem is there (the "bad" NAT rule # 13 - hs-auth redirect). The user tries to access an external website and does get authenticated (via MAC authentication with an external radius server - and the user is logged in and d...

Re: "BAD" rule in NAT table with Hotspot

Hi again,

I've upgraded to ROS v3.13. I see the "bad" rule is still there but I'm not at the location so I can't test (and I've erased the rule again).

What is the "transparent proxy" option in the user profile menu?

thanks very much for the help!

"BAD" rule in NAT table with Hotspot

Hi everyone, I'm seeing a weird problem with a Hotspot setup: - I'm using Hotspot with Mac authentication and a [freeradius] radius server and it's almost perfect. BUT people can't get out on the web when they are logged in - and the reason seems to be a rogue NAT rules that's added by Hotspot. If I...

Re: Werid Hotspot problem (users always held captive)

Hi Omega, If I disable (or remove) the Hotspot then Internet access is back working fine again. This is the only (production) hotspot I have currently. My test hotspot server is working 100% perfectly - I'd nearly put this one up instead of the problem one but it would take a trip up onto a 2 story ...

Re: Multicard MESH possible with routeros?

Why do you think it was made with 3 miniPCI slots? To run multicard MESH? Hmmm.... I'm not sure about that....

Werid Hotspot problem (users always held captive)

Hi, I setup a test Hotspot system with Mac authentication with a remote (on-line) freeradius server. This is for credit card payment and access. The remote website/freeradius server (and the bank payment servers) are all in the walled garden. On my test system (a RB 532 with ROS 311) everything work...

Multicard MESH possible with routeros?

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to do multi-card MESH with routeros and, say, a 333 or a 433 routerboard ? I was thinking about two 5Ghz backhaul cards and one 2Ghz customer AP card.

Is this type of setup possible with routeros?

thanks for any information

Derek
