Re: Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

Good news and Bad news.

Good News: The newest release (4.14) did the trick. I'm able to set my radios to NV2 and was able to maintain a connection and pass traffic.

Bad News: NV2 is actually less stable than regular Nstreme and throughput took a significant hit as well.

Re: Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

At the moment I'm using the "stable" 4.13 version. I'm a bit reluctant to use the Beta at this point as this is a production network. I will try to schedule some time outside business hours to try this.

If I use WPA2 with NV2, is that going to cause issues?

Re: Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

Well, I haven't gotten many replies, so I figured I draw a better picture of the situation. I know the OSI model wasn't strictly adhered to, but this should give the basic idea.

Re: RouterOS v4.13 Released

I'm having problems with NV2 as well, not so much the new firmware (4.13) but whenever I change from Nstreme to NV2 the connection lasts for all of 30 seconds and then the radios stop passing data all-together. The wireless connections are NOT dropping, but it's acting like there is a network loop o...

Re: Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

What ever is happening, it's definitely being caused by something on the radios. I disconnected all the unrelated network items, except for a laptop and I still loose traffic shortly after the radio connects to the AP.

Please Help.

Re: Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

OK, ends up watchdog was rebooting the radio connected to the switch, and that was what was giving the little bit of of intermittant connectivity. With watchdog off, my connection remains up, but I can't pass ANY data to ANY of the radios. Even when i connect directly to them. The only way I can con...

More Info

I tried using NV2 again this morning, this time using 4.13 as firmware and got some odd results. Again, I got intermittant connectivity, even to the radio I was directly connected to. Even weirder still, the radio I was directly connected to kept dropping and re-establishing the network connection t...

Possible network loop issues using NV2 + 5.0RC3

Been running 5.0RC1 for awhile, upgraded to 5.0rc3 when it came out. Running 5 x 433AH + XR9s with Nstreme. Has been working great, no problems whatsoever. But when I changed to NV2 a LOT of weird stuff started happening to my network, random devices and systems seemed to disconnect from the network...

I'm noticing some people are having issues with WDS. Would I be better off doing a PTMP bridge? Site A is connecting to several other access points.

Mangle, VLAN and Queues all report no traffic

I've been at this all day, and I'm ready to tear my hair out. I have a simple setup: Computer > Mikrotik > Network Mikrotik: ether1 > Bridge > ether2 RB433AH pretty simple right? Basically it's just acting as a switch and that's it. But when I try to use simple queues it dosn't effect throughput, an...

Re: Access point connecting, but not passing data.

Something else rather odd i noticed. From AP D when i do a scan i can see all the other access points on 2437, but they also appear on frequency 2417 and 2457 which is outside the range of this radio. We have a small snow fall of about 3 or four inches. We have also replaced the hardware on AP D, no...

Access point connecting, but not passing data.

I have a wireless network of four nodes using the 433AH boards and Ubiquiti's X9 900Mhz radios and each station using a 12Db Omnidirectional Antenna. Each radio is based on the script below. I of course add an IP address assigned to the Mesh Interface and add WPA2 AES PSK security. Anyways, I have 4...

Power issues?

We are using the RB-433AH MBs with the POE-24i injectors. Looking on routerboard.com it says the MB can consume upto 2Amps but the injectors can only provide 800ma. If we fully stock these boards, are we going to have a power shortage issue?

Re: Mikrotik makeing constant unceasing broadcasts.

the 192.168.1.13 is the ip address of the other wireless router, it is an arp monitor for the aggregated bridge. I don't think it's a loop, otherwise I'd be seeing several other packets doing the same thing.

Mikrotik makeing constant unceasing broadcasts.

I have a wireless bridge setup between two Mikrotiks using 2 aggregated WDS connections. The bridge works wonderfully however one of the bridges seem to be talking allot. I used wireshark to get a better idea. It seems it is furiously broadcasting: Routerbo_(Mac Address) Broadcast ARP Who has 192.16...

I understand how to setup static WDS bridges, now I want to take it a step further, I have about 6 APs, half are using omni's the other half are using 90 degree sectors. I'm using ubiquiti's XR9s. Do I just enable STP protocol on the WDS interface and start adding the additional APs to the connectio...

ok, I've played with both wireless options for Link Aggregation, WDS+Bonding and Nstreme Dual. Honestly I think I would prefer the WDS+Bonding, specifically because of the fault tolerance. Here is chart of how it's setup and working now... PTP_Wireless_Bonding.jpg My big question is can I take this ...

Re: Public IPs and NAT Craziness

This looks pretty good, however, I want to share a different public IP for each NAT. I would prefer to assign x.43.112.2 to eth1 and x.43.112.3 to eth2. How would I achieve this?

Thanks,

Jairus
