ICE on antennas

Hi all. I use panel antenna but in this season an ice layer cut me some point to point. Singnal level and signal to noise remain constant but the ccq go to 0. Have someone experienced anti ice solutions for panel antennas ? Spray, paint, thermal solutions ? Could someone give me some hints ? Thanks ...

How fast are queue tree?

Someone knows queue tree speed ?
For example, with 34Mbit of internet connection, 500 users, 20 queue tree, if a low priority queue gets all 34Mbit then an high priority connection begin: how many time the new queue take the bandwith ? Milliseconds or seconds ?

thanks

CCQ 100% but big hw frames difference

Hi all. In my registratin table stats I can see: - tx-signal-strength=-61dBm - tx-ccq=100% - rx-ccq=100% BUT frames=154637,420371 AND hw-frames=288097,860404267 It seems that hw-frames-r/frames-rx > 6000! If it retries so much, how the ccq could be 100% ? Thanks [admin@mycpe] > /interface wireless r...

QOS best practice (Janism document)

Hi all. I have read the Janism pdf (http://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/US08/janism.pdf) about best practice in QoS in large scale networks. This very interesting document keep in my mind some questions: 1. is it possible to encapsulate a traffic prioritization inside a pcq ? i.e. for each user of...

Re: cannot open sites if change-tcp-mss=No

The Mtu of my pppoe server is 1480.
I have this problem only with sites I cannot ping!
Could it be an ICMP problem ?
How can I check this?

thanks

cannot open sites if change-tcp-mss=No

Hi all. I have a pppoe connection inside an EoIp tunnel. I cannot open some sites (like support.microsoft.com) if the pppoe server have change-tcp-mss=no. If I set this value to ON I can browse this sites BUT i cannot ping them. Someone could answer: "set change-tcp-mss=Yes". My question i...

Re: Best practice with pppoe+MTU

macgaiver,
what is your full MTU configuration ?
I have the real interfaces (eth and wlan) with MTU= 1500, the eoip tunnel with MTU=1500.
Have you the same configuration ?
Which values do you use for MAX MATU and MAX MRU for pppoe server ?

thanks

Re: Best practice with pppoe+MTU

Hmmm... I have pppoe connections inside a EoIP tunnel. EoIP have MTU=1500. Eoip attach its header to the pppoe frames (24bytes?); pppoe attach 20bytes to IP frame. If this is correct, I must: 1. in pppoe servers set MAXMTU and MAXMRU to 1500-24-20 = 1456 2. change the MTU of the public interface to ...

Best practice with pppoe+MTU

I must learn how to manage a network of CPE, Point-MultiPoint, Point-Point, Subscriver server, all with Mikrotik and RouterOS. Point-Multipoint create an EoIP tunnel with subscriver. All the interfaces of all the network have a MTU=1500. All the CPE's create a pppoe tunnel with subscriver. In this c...

filter users by profile

Hi all!
I have users that connect to a subscriver using pppoe.
Each user have an assigne profile (basic, medium, extra).
Now I want to implement queue tree to give different priority to users with different profile.
How can I filter in mangle users having certain prifle ?

thanks!
