Multple DHCP for VLANs

Good day everyone, I'm racking my brain trying to figure this out and hoping I can get some help or clarity here, I've tried searching here and haven't found the solution. So here's the setup we some access points connected to a UBNT edgeswitch with a couple of VLANs (1,100), Edgeswitch connected to...

Re: Adding 2nd PTP need failover

If your goal is just "switch over when one link is down" and the situation is as simple as this, you can just put in 2 static routes with different distance and with nexthop checking. Of course you can use BGP but it is more suited for situations where there are multiple paths amongst 3 o...

Adding 2nd PTP need failover

Hey everyone, so I have two sites that are currently connected via a PTP link using static routes. I am adding a second PTP link which gives me more bandwidth but I would like to keep the old link as a backup. I would like for them to switch back and forth if the New link goes down and when it comes...

Limiting clients to 1 IP address from DHCP

I did a couple of searches on this topic and didn't seem to find anything so here it goes. I am running several ccr routers over several sites (WISP) that hand out DHCP at each site. Most clients don't go outside the norm of plugging our equipment into their routers and only pulling 1 ip address fro...

Re: Blocking Duplicate IP address from hitting my router

So what happens to the ubnt client is basically either static electricity build up or a power spike blowing out the LAN port on the radio. Sometimes that's all that happens and we have to replace the radio, but other times it will kind of create a loopback almost where the radio will create a duplic...

Blocking Duplicate IP address from hitting my router

I've been racking my brain on this one, here's what I have. I have UBNT clients connecting to UBNT AP's connected to MT Switches and at certain sites those switches connected to Cisco routers (for the time being, they will be swapped out with CCR by end of the year). Re: I'm sure this is a basic question

It depends on your network, and there's not enough information there for anyone to be able to tell you for sure. You can assign as many subnets and IPs to a routed interface as you want however. The only reason to use a bridge is if you wanted those subnets across multiple layer2 interfaces. well I...

Well shortly after my last post it went down again, decided to get a climber up there to swap the RB2011 out, since then I have yet to have any problems. Knock on wood, I think something was just not working properly with that RB2011 that went up the first time, we'll see.

Re: Product advice

When using a switch chip it completely bypasses the CPU for traffic between the ports, and therefore it never touches the firewall. The router has no way to block that. The closest you will likely get to what you want to do is to create a bridge and bridge all of the ports together. This will then ...

The 493G would probably be the closest. It has 9 ports (1 more than the GS108T) and is also gigabit.

Get a 24v POE. You are probably losing too much voltage over that long of a run. XR5 is a power hungry card. I ran into similar issues with the SR9 and 133C combo. One side ran fine 90% of the time, the other (my side, luckily), had some quirks. Bottom line, if you run any high powered UBNT cards, ...

Customers are hitting their down speeds but I got an email from a customer today saying he was only getting 50k when he's paying for 1024k UP. I've messed with rts/cts turned them both ON, 433ah+xr5 and the NS5's...

Medianet mentioned that 7-8mbps is where things would bottleneck for him as well, has anyone else seen this and been able to resolve this as well. I would hate to have to put up more sectors because we can only use 8mbps of traffic per sector, anyone got suggestions?

Re: RB433AH + XR5 + Newb = Issues

The NS5 by itself on the tower got me about 4miles, but we wanted to try the XR5 on a RB433AH and i've tried it hooked up to a 15db and 16db sector anten...

RB433AH + XR5 + Newb = Issues

First off hello to everyone, I just purchased my first mikrotik 433AH last week. I've been using The Dude for a long time and finally read enough about mikrotik that i decided to give it a shot to maybe have it help with our Ubiquiti setup. So I purchased the RB433AH and a ubiquiti XR5, my whole thi...
