I suggest UB5 cards, and 411aH. Rb411 is for maximum of 30Mbps. So in the future you have no options. Rb411ah is much better, and not so expensieve. What do you mean by connected users? hotspot users, tcp connections, entries in the arp table? If you can define what you want to monitor specifically I can probably help.

Why is it a problem? Does your link slowing down? Try to leave rate at 54 (or try 48,36), and ping on empty state, 5mbps btw test (tcp, one way), 10mbps, and 15mbps (or even 20mbps). We have this problem, but not so often ( once in a month or two months). You can write a sript tat checks route table ,and if ts too short, do a reboot. Ops, we use 2.8.19, and as I see we won't upgrade till 2.9.

You can not bridge wireless client. Its not on the card, its on RFC. You can read a lot of about it if you look after wds and eoip tunnels. That gigabyte card works fine for us.

You can set the firewall chain for in and out traf. at ppp profil page. Then you just creat a new chain at ip firewall and add a rule that blocks traf you vant to stop. Its just a first idea as i read your post, but I think it works. Try, and report.

I used routeros as a bgp border router 2 years ago. It served only on e prived, but serverd good. The config was as simple as its shown in the docs. It was 2.6.x, P3 1GHz, and 256MB ram.
Never dropped, it worked for 1 year, than I left that company, but as I know its still working with no errors.

Is that 384kbps dsl lien simmetric? 'cause here all dsl lines are assimetric. So if you have a 384kbps dsl, the upload will be only 64kbps, os anout 8kbyte/s.

I have a dlink dwl g520 card. My 2.8.10 MT shows that its a 5212 atheros card. Dlink writes that this card supports 108mbps. Do I have to upgrade to recognize this card as 5213, or this card is really a 5212?
