CRS vlans with untagged hardware LAN

I want my Mikrotik CRS to have a trunk coming into ether1 with a few vlans on it. I also want that trunk to continue on ether2 with the same vlans. That part is simple and I have been doing it for some time. Here is the part that I can make work, but it's never consistent. On this incoming trunk on ...

Re: VLAN between two Subnets w/diagram

Thanks a bunch. I had did everything you spoke of with one exception. I attached the VLAN directly to the bridge on Router1, instead of adding it to ether5 and then adding the VLAN to the bridge as a port.
Thank you very much. Perfect solution.

VLAN between two Subnets w/diagram

The picture says it all with a description which is very important. My biggest concern is that I don't want clients on Router1 or Router2 seeing one another. I have used MT for 6 years but no experience with VLAN's. We usually just use Mangle or routing marks but it's time to test out VLANS. I will ...

FTTH - S-35/53LC20D MT GBIC - Do they actually work?

This are purchased as a pair and work with SM, single fiber according to Routerboard.com. The issues is that I would like to put them into a Dell 24 SFP port switch. I can't find anything on the WEB about anyone ever having used them. Is there anyone that can tell me if these really work at all? I h...

Re: RB 2011LS-IN & MIKROTIK GBIC PAIR S-35LC20D

I would like to know if you ever got an answer to this or figured out the situation. I'm working on a small FTTH project and would like to use these modules in 2011 series routers. Of course the specs say they work, but I'm concerned now that I see this and no where else on the web does anyone even ...

Re: Possible BUG with EoIP

Wonderful - Honestly my favorite thing to do is reboot a core router on the network five or six times to fix the problem. I can buy a Linksys if I want that kind of stability.

Finally a real PCQ Example - Upload and Download

XINS, You are the very first to ever show both the upload and download side of managing PCQ. I don't really care what others say because I have tried to figure this out for two years. I have even went so far as to pay a Mikrotik Certified and recommended by MT tech just to be told this can't be done...

Re: Common PCQ configuration, upload not working correctly

I really like the idea behind PCQ and the low CPU usage in comparison to Simple Queues. For two years now I have ran simple queues and never had an issue with them. But, PCQ is not consistent at all. It works a little here and a little there, but is never consistent. Granted, I have only used PCQ on...

Common PCQ configuration, upload not working correctly

My goal: 2meg download and 1meg upload using PCQ My problem: Upload speed for clients on local side is never correct. Usually I have to adjust it to double to get the correct bandwidth. You will see that in the "Queue Type" below. This is not being caused because of a shortage of available...

4.6 e-mail issues with tls resolved. Gmail works

I can't say thanks enough MT other than I wish the changes made were better documented pertaining to the usage of the e-mail tool. For those of you that have taken the chance to move on to 4.6 (We have on 4% of our network) you might run across more issues trying to use scripts that include the use ...

Re: v3.25 script backup not work !

Ok, here is my full script for doing both binary (full backups) and exports. I like to do both. This also includes the scheduler. It works perfect and is plug in play less changing a few basic things. /system script add name=ebackup source={/system backup save \ name=([/system identity get name] . &...

System Backup using Gmail with 3.30

Thanks a bunch for the help. My script works perfectly now. The problem I was having was two fold. 1. I was putting the user name, password, server ip, port, and from field in the script (don't do that on 3.30) 2. Tools > email > Don't put an email address in the From field. Just put a word with no ...

Re: v3.25 script backup not work !

I have been using backup scripts very successfully through Gmail Apps on my own domain for sometime. 3.22 worked perfect and I could almost do no wrong. Then I upgraded to 3.30. After spending a good 5 hours of time, I have come to the conclusion that 3.30 does not work for Gmail, period. http://crw...

133 - 3.22 upgraded to 4.2, Now want to downgrade

After severe problems with 4.2 on clients and AP's with extremely basic configuration that has worked perfect for a year and a half, I have to go back to 3.22 or 3.30. I did the 4.2 update as explained keeping both the new and the old license key on my 133's, and some 411's. 400 series boards will r...

Re: Ver 4.2 - Dropped ethernet ports on 4 different AP's

I'm sorry about the support file. I was frantic trying to get everything back up online. In each case I could not get to the AP, because the back haul is connected to the AP by ethernet. So getting that file was not possible. Also, on at least two of them it dropped access to the radio as well, very...

Ver 4.2 - Dropped ethernet ports on 4 different AP's

Just a note letting you know, after updating 9 AP's from 3.22 (411a's and 433's) to 4.2 and upgrading the license as needed I have run into severe problems. 4.2 drops ethernet ports randomly and there seems to be no set pattern as well. This is a very serious problem. Our AP's are scattered over 2,0...

Re: Add TX and RX to a device label, not using a link

I was actually looking for something a little different. The oid lookup you showed only shows what the rate of the TX Rate and RX Rate are specifically set at on a wlan1. In my case, 12meg. I'm looking for the actual close to real time current RX TX rate that is taking place at the moment. When you ...

History graph for ping times, only shows last probe.

This is kind of hard to explain. When passing my mouse over a device (example MT 411 board) the history popup only shows the what appears to be the last probe time and the result. Though a few of my devices show a full history on the popup. Now, I understand about probe intervals, graph time display...

Add TX and RX to a device label, not using a link

After hours of searching for this over the last couple months and learning a little bit about oid's (very nice indeed) I have yet to find how to add RX and TX rates of wlan1 or 2 to my AP device labels in Dude. Yes, I know it's easy when using a link. But my network is getting pretty good size and I...

Help with progressive QUEUE for P2P and Port 119 traffic

I run a small WISP in Central America. Our 4 meg symmetrical connection is very expensive. Currently I use Simple Queues with bursting and it has worked very well with the exception of 7 clients. 1meg for about 15 seconds and then drops to 512k. This gives the common browser a 1 meg level of service...

Re: Bug or only wrong setting? - Dude crash

I have found that turning the polling (at the server settings) off while you are using remote connection...that is if you need to change the settings... Wispy, that is all that I have found that works as well. For me this same thing happens for the last two revisions of Dude, and it makes no differ...
