Where is SIMB on an SXT-R?

Picture would be nice, or at least a description of the location.

Re: LTE Modem SIM Cars, Data Plans, etc.

Here are some examples from searching the MikroTik wiki: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=166151&p=816869&hilit=lte+sim+plan#p816869 "some mobile operators play silly games if your "plan" is for a mobile phone and you use the SIM in a router. " https://f...

LTE Modem SIM Cars, Data Plans, etc.

I have a situation where a router with an LTE modem might be an ideal solution. But, service provider compatibility, SIM cards, data plans, etc. might be show stoppers. Is there a page with an overview of these topics and links to more detailed information? So far my searches have only turned up fol...

D'Oh! I was looking at things crosseyed and I missed the bridge1 interface, which is what I now think is the correct configuration for what I want. Double D'Oh! I didn't see any responses, looked for this thread, didn't see it. And asked again. Sorry about that. Remaining Puzzle I still have the my...

Remote sniffing WAN traffic

I have this almost working the way I want it. I have a minimalist configuration on the router: [admin@router] /tool sniffer> export # dec/30/2017 00:08:37 by RouterOS 6.40.4 # software id = TJQF-1YLZ # # model = 750GL # serial number = 467B04A9F1B1 /tool sniffer set file-limit=100000KiB filter-inter...

Streaming Sniffed Packets from External interface

Using /tool/sniffer to send sniffed packets from Mikrotik router wan interface. Receiving on linux laptop with: tzsp2pcat -f Unfortunately, the packets are post-nat and show the external ip address not the internal address. Except for a very small number of packets. I need to dig deeper out what's g...

RB750 w/ switch on WAN side?

It would be very nice if I could tweak the default config on a RB750 to build a bridge on the LAN side instead the WAN side, leaving just one LAN port connected to a bigger, faster switch. One port (the real WAN port) on a 4port switch goes to a modem, the other 3 ports go to other switches or devic...

RB912UAG-2HPnD reinstall?

Hi, I have a brand new RB912G, and have been trying to get it configured. I was making progress, but have had a major setback. Port scanning using nmap (via zenmap front end) shows the router appears to be at the expected 192.168.88.1. with a reasonable set of open tcp ports: 21, 22, 23, 53, 80, 200...

License Update without winbox

Just tried updating 3.27 -> 4.11

Got the message about updating my license using winbox.

What about those of who don't use windows?
Can we update without using winbox?

While searching the forums I found a message that said I had to upgrade to 3.30 first. Is that correct?

From the wiki page it appears that a stuff that should be configurable is hard coded. For example, using subnets within 10.15.0.0 where did you see that? 10.15.0.0 is just an example... Okay, I see some of the things I missed in my previous look at the openvpn wiki page. The part I still don't see ...

several ntp issues

From reading the documentation, when syncing to a gps receiver, it looks like it just syncs using the nmea messages, and not the much more accurate transitions in the 1 pulse per second waveform on a modem control line. Is this correct? It looks like ntp servers can only be specified by ip numbers n...

After exporting a configuration,

and editing it to make another configuration for this bpx, or another box.

Is the an easy way to make it "importable",

getting around the nasty gotcha in the /import documentation?

Backup/Restore vs. Export/Import

My first impression on reading the included some misconceptions. I looked at backup/restore and saw that it saves everything in one big binary file. You cannot make any adjustments before you restore. Export/Import seemed much better. It saves everything in a editable text file. Once I get things wo...

x.x.x.x the public ip is assigned by the isp's dhcp server.

it is not known at this time,
and it may change when the lease from the isp's dhcp server expires.
I cannot be monitoring the public ip and manually changing it
the firewall rule set every time the isp changes the public ip.
